What to expect from 'The Golden Bachelor' Episode 5?
For the golden bachelor, hometowns are on the horizon. With only three roses left, the final six ladies must confront the risk that their fairy tale with Gerry will not end happily, and Gerry must make his most difficult selections yet.
What happened in 'The Golden Bachelor' Episode 4?
Everyone on 'The Golden Bachelor' was delighted to play pickleball last week, but Gerry also found himself having to play referee in a brewing conflict between two of his remaining girlfriends.
Trista Sutter paid a visit to the mansion to convince the girls that the Bachelor process can work — and then asked them all to a group pickleball date.
Except for Leslie Fhima, who received a one-on-one date, they all received invitations. Theresa Nist also revealed all the specifics of her relationship with Gerry to Trista, which caused Kathy to roll her eyes.
They arrived at the pickleball court, and Ellen Goltzer was eager to get started: she was the pickleball captain! Joey Graziadei, the recently crowned Bachelor, stepped by to offer them some lessons, but April Kirkwood ended up suffering a horrible spill.
Gerry stopped to console her when she stated her ankle was broken, but she subsequently informed us, "Actually, I am totally fine."
They divided into two-person teams for a tournament, with the victors receiving a picture session with Gerry in a publication called In Pickleball. Ellen and Kathy Swarts won, and both received a smooch from Gerry as a prize.
Gerry was surprised, however, to find that Sandra Mason would be skipping her daughter's wedding. He and Sandra discussed it, and they ended up FaceTime-ing Sandra's kid to say hello... once they found out how FaceTime works.
Theresa wanted to bury the hatchet with Kathy, so she got her aside and explained how her exposing everything about her relationship with Gerry made Kathy nervous. Theresa said she wasn't being malevolent, but Kathy had two words for her: "Zip it."
Theresa did the exact opposite and told Gerry what Kathy had just stated to her. Gerry became concerned about the tension and met with Kathy, who told him it hurt when Theresa talked on and on about him.
He did, however, ask her directly about ordering Theresa to "zip it," and stated that there is "a rift here that I'm really not happy about." Kathy swore she was not the villain, but she was now irritated because Theresa had blabbed. After all of that, Gerry presented Sandra with the group date rose.
It was then time for Gerry's one-on-one date with Leslie, and they spent it riding ATVs around the mountains together. Leslie was concerned about the pace at first, but Gerry bravely allowed her to go first and followed behind, assuaging her anxieties.
Leslie stated after they snuggled that she'd been divorced twice and unmarried for 22 years, but she saw something in Gerry that she hoped might endure.
He, too, regarded her as a genuine competitor. Before he presented her with a rose, they slipped into a hot tub together. Meanwhile, Sandra became unwell after playing Never Have I Ever with pints of ice cream, as she is lactose intolerant, and she was unable to attend the forthcoming rose ceremony.
Gerry gave Susan a rose quartz and told her she reminded him of his late wife Toni at the cocktail party, and he and Ellen shared a tender moment where she confessed she was falling in love with him, and he got emotional because it was the first time he'd heard things like that since Toni died.
Nancy Hulkower, on the other hand, noticed Gerry's deeper connection with others and graciously dropped out early. Gerry presented roses to Ellen, Faith Martin, and Susan during the rose ceremony, with the final rose going to one out of the two opponents Theresa and Kathy.
Gerry handed it to Theresa, and Kathy and April were sent home. He walked Kathy out, and they wished each other well, but Kathy couldn't believe she'd been rejected.
