'The Boys' star confirms more 'Supernatural' cameos in season 5 as hit series powers into its final run
The upcoming fifth and final season of 'The Boys' promises to answer many questions, including the mystery behind Godolkin University, and fans can't wait for it to drop. Although the release date is yet to be confirmed, it has been reported that 'The Boys' Season will drop on Amazon Prime Video in 2026. Now, adding to the excitement, it has been confirmed that 'The Boys' Season 5 will feature several cameos from 'Supernatural' stars, in addition to the previously announced appearances by Jared Padalecki and Misha Collins, as per a ScreenRant report.
Series regular Karl Urban, who portrays the formidable Billy the Butcher, recently spoke to 'The Boys' panel at the Fan Expo San Francisco, where he addressed questions about the upcoming final season. Urban dropped several hints regarding cameo appearances from 'Supernatural' stars. "We can say, obviously, Jensen (Ackles), it was great to have him back. And it was fun to sort of get the opportunity to have the Supernatural guys sort of roll through and do their thing. And there's going to be a few great cameos that I don't even think have been announced yet. So yeah, it was fun," he said.
Urban also expressed his admiration for Eric Kripke, the creator of both 'Supernatural' and 'The Boys'. "You know, we're all very grateful, and I think (Eric) Kripke is, he's a wonderful collaborator to work with. And if he likes working with you, then he will go out of his way to find an opportunity to work with you again. And I guess, you know, we all feel part of that big family," he said.
In terms of 'The Boys' Season 5 plot, by the end of season 4, Starlight and A-Train were the only characters who weren't captured by Vought. With Homelander now holding the reins of the government, the Supes have enforced a state of martial law across the country. The final season is expected to bring a dramatic showdown between humans and the Supes, as per Pop Rant. Several mysteries, including Vought’s origins, are also expected to be explored.
The entire ensemble cast will be returning for the final instalment, with Jack Quaid, Karl Urban, Antony Starr, Erin Moriarty, Laz Alonso, and Chace Crawford reprising their roles. In addition to this, 'Supernatural' alums Nathan Mitchell, Christian Keyes, Jared Padalecki, and Misha Collins would also make appearances. Notably, 'The Boys' is far from bidding a final farewell as fans will soon be able to revisit the chaotic universe in the upcoming 'Vought Rising' and 'The Boys: Mexico'.
