'Reacher' fans are waiting with bated breath for their favorite action crime drama to release its fourth installment. Alan Ritchson, who plays the titular character, Jack Reacher, shared in March that the post-production phase of Season 4 had concluded, according to Collider. He also confirmed with the publication that the new installment will drop sometime in 2026. "Well, we finished shooting season 4 of Reacher. It’s by far the best season we’ve had yet, so it’s coming. It’ll be out this year," he said. Based on this development, it can be assumed that Prime Video will soon announce a release date.

The fourth season will reportedly be based on 'Gone Tomorrow,' the 13th book in Lee Child's 'Jack Reacher' book series. The story takes place in New York City, where Reacher comes across a potential female suicide bomber. The interaction concludes in tragedy and causes Reacher to experience immense guilt. After Reacher finds out the woman's profession, he decides to dig deeper. If Season 4 indeed follows the plotline of the 13th book, then the upcoming installment will be markedly different from the show's previous three seasons. The previous seasons explored Reacher's past, including the death of his brother and the 110th Special Investigations Unit. This one, though, will have no such past connections. However, like previous installments, the fourth will also be action-packed with about 30 fight sequences across eight episodes.

During an interview with ScreenRant, Ritchson claimed that the fourth season sets a new series record for the volume of action scenes. He added that the team ensured these scenes served the narrative. "You got to be invested in feeling for these characters and the reason for what they're fighting for, and I think we've done a really good job of that," the actor explained. The fourth season will feature Agnez Mo as the lead antagonist, Lila Hoth, an emotionless terrorist cell leader. It will also star Christopher Rodriguez-Marquette as Detective Jacob Merrick, along with Sydelle Noel, Kevin Corrigan, Marc Blucas, and Kathleen Robertson.

In his conversation with Collider, Ritchson claimed that the fourth season is "the best season we've had yet" and later doubled down on his assertions on social media. As Season 4 wrapped up, he wrote, "This is, without a doubt, the most gripping season yet. I think we hit our stride. Firing on all cylinders… as it were." Ritchson is set to appear in the spin-off titled 'Neagley', which will also drop sometime in 2026, possibly before 'Reacher.' This show will follow Frances Neagley, played by Maria Sten, investigating the death of a close friend. Neagley is a fan-favorite character who serves as Reacher's ally in the flagship series. The spin-off will not be based on any books and will be crafted out of original material. All three seasons of 'Reacher' are available on Prime Video.
