LAS VEGAS, NEVADA: Richard Benjamin Harrison popularly known as 'The Old Man', will be sorely missed by the fans in the upcoming season of 'Pawn Stars Do America' which is set to premiere on Wednesday, October 25, at 8 pm ET on the History Channel.
For those unversed, Harrison passed away on June 25, 2018. At that time, he was 77 years old.
In the days of the History Channel's long-running show 'Pawn Stars' when it was filmed in Las Vegas, the show starred Harrison, Rick Harrison, Corey Harrison, and Austin 'Chumlee' Russell.

How did 'Pawn Stars' personality 'The Old Man' die?
Richard Benjamin 'The Old Man' Harrison died at the age of 77 after a battle with Parkinson's disease in June 2018.
According to CBS News, at that time, the news of his death was confirmed by his son Rick Harrison on the official Facebook page of the Gold & Silver Pawn Shop, which was co-owned by Harrison.
In the statement issued, he mentioned that his famous father died while being surrounded by his loved ones.
The caption of the Facebook post read, "The team at Gold & Silver Pawn and the Pawn Stars family is grieving his loss. He will be remembered as the best father, grandfather and great-grandfather you could have by his family and by fans as the sometimes grumpy (always loving, however), often wisecracking, and voice of absolute reason on the History television show 'Pawn Stars.' Services are pending and the family appreciates your prayers and kind words."
Around the same time, Rick also mourned the loss of his father on Instagram by writing, "Richard Benjamin ‘The Old Man’ Harrison passed away this morning surrounded by those he loved. He will be tremendously missed by our family, the team at Gold & Silver Pawn and his many fans the world over."
He also wrote, "He was my hero and I was fortunate to get a very cool ‘Old Man’ as my dad. That I got to share him with so many others and they got to see what a great family man he was is something I am grateful to have experienced with him."
He said, "He lived a very full life and through the History television show ‘Pawn Stars’ touched the lives of people all over, teaching them the value of loving your family, hard work and humor. We appreciate everyone’s thoughts and prayers and ask that we are provided some privacy at this time."

When did 'The Old Man' open the Gold & Silver Pawn Shop?
Richard Harrison, a Navy veteran who was the patriarch of 'Pawn Stars', and his son Rick, opened the World Famous Gold & Silver Pawn Shop in the year 1989 in Las Vegas post relocating from San Diego.
The show 'Pawn Stars' aired on the History Channel in July 2009. The show focused on the Harrison family and their pawn shop business including their interaction with customers who came with unique items to sell.
Sporting his signature fedora, Harrison who had a deadpan humor, bagged his nickname 'The Old Man' when he was only 38 years old. The Navy veteran often spoke about his service on the show. While on the show, he didn't take a tad bit of ribbing from his son Rick, his grandson Corey and longtime family friend Austin 'Chumlee' Russell.

Who was Richard Benjamin 'The Old Man' Harrison married to?
Richard was happily married to his wife Joanne Rhue until his demise in 2018. The two of them met while attending a barn dance when he was only 17 years old. They tied the knot in the year 1960 and soon welcomed their first child, daughter Sherry during the same year. Their daughter Sherry was born with Down syndrome and died at the age of 6. Later on, they also had three sons: Joseph, Rick, and Chris.
