'My Lottery Dream Home' has aired eight seasons on HGTV but this is one show that audiences are obsessed about and they keep coming back for more. The opportunity to watch people who turned into millionaires overnight courtesy of a lottery win live their home-buying journey on television makes for quite an endearing and heartwarming experience. That is one of the reasons this remains the second most-streamed show on HGTV GO.

Season 8 of the show has already finished airing 12 episodes of the show between December 2019 to April 2020. While there is no news about the renewal of the show for Season 9 despite its popularity, the network will be airing fresh episodes from Season 8. Here's what you can expect when the HGTV show returns.

Plot

'My Lottery Dream Home' host David Bromstad travels across the country, making stops in Florida, Louisiana, Massachusetts and North Carolina, to tour homes with the suddenly rich. In each episode, Bromstad takes them on a tour of three homes, which include super luxurious mansions to countryside homes that provide not just shelter but a sense of comfort.

While the decision of settling for a home lies completely with the homebuyers, Bromstad continues to help them every step of the way, guiding them about financial matters as well. He offers advice, rather shows them how to maximize the large fortune they've just acquired along with teaching them how to live their best lives in a new place that fulfills their wish list.

Host

David Bromstad

Bromstad's stint as a permanent and constant name on HGTV began when he appeared on 'Design Star' and won it. After taking the grand prize home, Bromstad went on to make a real name for himself on the network and within the home design sphere as a whole. Bromstad has hosted three HGTV shows to date including 'Beach Flip' and 'Color Splash'. The tracksuit-loving Disney-enthusiast loves everything color and he makes sure to rub off some of his pizzazz and love for all things pretty on the lives of people he associates with on these shows.
