For the first time since the series began, 'Fear the Walking Dead' will not be airing all of its episodes in the same year. The Covid-19 pandemic has pushed all 'The Walking Dead' franchises back, as production within safety guidelines becomes an issue. 'Fear the Walking Dead' takes its midseason break with Episode 7, 'Damage from the Inside', leaving 'Walking Dead: World Beyond' to wrap up its first season with a two-hour special next week.

'Fear the Walking Dead' will return some time in 2021, most likely after the main 'The Walking Dead' series rounds off its extended Season 10. Aside from special events where the season finale of one show leads into the season premiere of another, like when Morgan (Leslie Jones) crossed over from one show into the other, 'Fear the Walking Dead' airs when 'The Walking Dead' is off-air, ensuring a relatively steady stream of 'The Walking Dead' content throughout the year.

'The Walking Dead' Season 10 is expected to return on February 28, with six episodes that will end with 'Here's Negan' on April 4, 2021 - meaning that we can expected to see 'Fear the Walking Dead' return for its eighth episode either on April 4, or on the week after, April 11, depending on whether or not 'The Walking Dead: World Beyond' premieres its second season at around the same time.

'Fear the Walking Dead' left off at a tense point. After a horrifying detour involving a mad taxidermist modifying zombies in a cabin in the woods, Dakota (Zoe Colletti) joins Alicia (Alycia Debnam-Carey) and Charlie (Alexa Nisenson) to defect to Morgan's (Leslie Jones) settlement. With her sister missing, Virginia (Colby Minifie) is enraged. She shows Victor Strand (Colman Domingo) that she's got a pregnant Grace (Karen David) captured, and that she wants Strand to strack down every single one of Morgan's surviving group. Virginia herself is very much on the edge, having recently lost her hand, Tank Town, and now her sister.

Between the masked castoffs from the Pioneers that Sherry (Christine Evangelista) is a part of, Morgan's group of survivors, and 'The End is the Beginning' cult, there are a lot of forces arrayed against Virginia, and it's starting to look like everything she's in charge of is on the cusp of crumbling away.

'Fear the Walking Dead' will return in 2021, on AMC.
