Rick Legarski (John Carroll-Lynch) is alive, despite being shot in the head. However, Cody Hoyt (Ryan Phillippe) suffered the same fate and is dead as a doornail. The only relief we'll get is by watching him in flashbacks.

It's the first season of the ABC show, and several murders have taken place already. In the first episode of 'Big Sky', Cody Hoyt (Ryan Phillippe) was shot in the head by Rick Legarski (John Carroll-Lynch, as he found out who was responsible for abducting the girls. Legarski and his accomplice Ronald Pergman (Brian Geraghty) had taken Jerrie, Grace and Danielle to a shady truck in the middle of the woods, after tasering them.  After a wild goose chase, Cassie Dewell (Kylie Bunbury) and Jenny Hoyt (Katheryn Winnick) found their prison cell, but Legarski had already moved them from there. However, Cassie doggedly and closed in on Legarski. After some taunting words from him, she shot him in the head. And now, Cassie is facing an inquiry because she shot when there was no 'actual danger', and is being haunted by her memories of killing him. Legarski's wife Merrillee has just discovered while sitting by his bedside, that her husband is a kidnapper and a murderer and has nothing concrete to say. In fact, when a grief-stricken Jenny tells her about the crimes he has committed, Merrillee just remains rather blankly and exhausted, saying that 'this isn't the time' and she doesn't know what else to say. Moreover, she just might be developing a bit of a soft corner for Ronald. If viewers might remember, the two went out dancing in the mid-season finale, which led to Legarski having dreams of murdering his wife.

In the promo for Episode 7, someone comes banging on Jerri's door, and she stares in fright. On the other hand, Legarski is awake, and Merrillee peers anxiously at him asking 'if he is in there'. Ronald seems to be going on a spin.

The synopsis reads, "Cassie and Jenny work against the clock to find Ronald and prove Legarski’s guilt, calling on Grace to join their efforts and bravely help them in the process." There are around ten episodes this season, so it remains to be seen what unfolds next. Will Legarski take his revenge and abduct the girls again, as they've seen him and Ronald?

Catch 'Big Sky', Episode 7 on February 2 at 10 pm, on ABC.
