Tom Ellis reunites with ‘Lucifer’ co-star on set of spinoff show ‘CIA’ and it's the cutest moment ever
As star Tom Ellis is hard at work playing a CIA agent in his next leading role in the CBS series 'CIA,' he got a surprise visit from his 'Lucifer' co-star, Aimee Garcia. On February 23, Garcia visited the set and shared a selfie of the duo on social media. She captioned the post, "Excited to watch @officialtomellis look devilishly dapper AND solve crime in @ciacbs Monday at 10 p.m. ET/PT." She also posted behind-the-scenes glimpses of Ellis getting his hair and makeup done on her Instagram stories.
Ellis played the titular character Lucifer Morningstar in the Fox series, 'Lucifer,' before it moved to Netflix. The series, based on an alternate version of the DC Comics character, sees the devil swap his life in hell to live on Earth. He decides to run a nightclub in Los Angeles before working as a consultant for the LAPD. Meanwhile, Garcia starred as the LAPD's forensic scientist, Ella Lopez. Ellis starred in the series from 2016 to 2021, while Garcia joined in 2017. Fans of the show have always loved the dynamic between the duo, and seeing them together on Garcia's Instagram account was like a walk down memory lane. However, the latest glimpses of them on the sets of 'CIA' had fans speculating. Will they share the screen in the ongoing procedural spinoff? Only time will tell.

The 'Lucifer' actor has now traded his horns for a badge in the new series, 'CIA,' which is the latest spinoff series from Dick Wolf’s 'FBI' franchise. It is co-created by Wolf and David Hudgins, while Mike Weiss serves as the showrunner. Ellis leads the series as CIA case officer Colin Glass, who is described as "a bit of a loose cannon with no regard for the rules." He is teamed up with Nick Gehlfuss's strictly by-the-book FBI special agent, Bill Goodman. Their contrasting backgrounds in the CIA and FBI cause a considerable amount of friction, but in time, the two learn to appreciate and respect each other. While it is Ellis' first foray into Wolf's universe, Gehlfuss previously starred as Dr. Will Halstead for eight years in the medical drama 'Chicago Med' on CBS. 'CIA' also stars Natalee Linez as the CIA analyst Gina Gosian and Necar Zadegan as the Deputy Chief of the CIA's New York station, Nikki Reynard.
As per the show's official synopsis, the new series will see the agents work on covert operations in New York, as they solve international plots and deal with terrorist cells and geopolitical secrets. "On CIA, Bill will learn the rules of this murky world on the fly as Colin leads him deeper into spy games where only one thing is clear — their work keeps America safe, even if no one will ever know what they did in the shadows," the synopsis states. The show aired on CBS with its premiere episode on February 23, and viewers are already eager to watch Episode 2 on March 2.
