Cops shut down road post spotting suspicious package near Walter Reed where Trump's admitted: A look at incident

After a period of investigating and examining the package, police gave an 'all clear' sign that the scene was safe

The Montgomery County Police Department has now closed the roads from both sides near Walter Reed National Medical Centre where President Donald Trump is getting treated for Covid-19. The department blocked the road after locating a "suspicious package" near the premises.

According to Bethesda Magazine, people who were standing in that area were moved across the street and both directions of Rockville Pike were shut down outside Walter Reed as of 9 pm ET. However, after a period of investigating and examining the package, police gave an “all clear” sign that the scene was safe. As soon, as the news came in light, people started reacting to the development. One Internet user, who was allegedly at the scene, wrote, "Bomb Squad is removing a suspicious package from outside Walter Reed Hospital." Another said, "There is a suspicious package investigation going on by Walter Reed gate. Trump supporters have been moved across the street. Rockville Pike closed in both directions."

While making speculations, one wrote, "2020 is wild man. The president of the United States is hospitalized by a pandemic disease that he didn’t take seriously, all the while citizens of the country are planting suspicious packages outside hoping to lead to his demise. 2016 me would have never believed this script." "That will frighten trump now.....he didn't feel safe in the White House and now he is on a Military base and still cannot feel safe. Hitler felt that way in his bunker. Just saying," read another tweet.

One concerned user wrote, "It is not right to throw a scare into a hospital like that. Real or imagined threat, there are veterans and hospital staff who have nothing to do with Trump and should be saved the aggravation." While one sarcastically reacted to the news saying: "Oops...may be it was Covid vaccine delivery in the backpack. Nothing short of a mystery thriller. Amazon Prime and Netflix....are you getting the script ready?"

One commented: "2 points. 1. That area has devise detection capabilities far beyond most of the county. 2. That area is 360 degree camera coverage. If someone left something, it’s on video." While another called it all "evil" and wrote, "I am just sick and tired of these Evil people in this country. Soulless Evil in our Government, Press, Media and on our streets. That is why they are covered up for blm, antifa and the like ... We want joy, they want pain."
