BROOKSVILLE, FLORIDA: WWE fans' favorite Bray Wyatt, once known as Windham Rotunda, died on Thursday, August 24, after suffering a heart attack.

According to PEOPLE, the WWE star had a history of cardiac issues in the months before his death, and when his body was discovered, he was not carrying the heart defibrillator that his doctor had advised.

Wyatt's father, WWE Legend Mike Rotunda, broke the tragic news to WWE Chief Content Officer Triple, who then made the announcement.

Wyatt was 36 years old and is survived by his fiancee Joseann Offerman, better known as "JoJo" when she was at the WWE.

Did WWE star Bray Wyatt have existing heart issues?

The third-generation wrestler, real name Windham Rotunda, continued for more than ten years in the WWE where he won multiple championships.

According to wrestling reporter for Fightful.com Sean Ross Sapp, Wyatt suffered a heart attack following his battle with Covid-19, which aggravated his pre-existing cardiac conditions.

Also, Windham was admitted to the hospital for a cardiac condition just a week before he died.

According to TMZ, Wyatt was not wearing a cardiac defibrillator at the time of his death and died in his sleep; the device was later found in Wyatt's car parked outside his house.

According to police reports obtained by TMZ, Wyatt informed his girlfriend he was going to take a nap on Thursday. However, she grew worried when she heard his alarm go off an hour later without pausing.

As per the investigation, Wyatt was found in his bed blue and not breathing. While her mother was performing CPR, Windham's girlfriend dialed 911, but he was subsequently declared dead at the hospital.

Police contacted Wyatt's family members, who said that he was diagnosed with Covid in March 2023 and suffered from heart issues that left him with a "weak lower part of his heart."

The morning of his death, Wyatt had a follow-up consultation with medical professionals, at which time it was suggested that he keep wearing the external heart defibrillator, a device used to treat sudden cardiac arrest.

Was Bray Wyatt cut from WWE?

Bray Wyatt, a star of the WWE, was regarded as one of the most imaginative wrestlers who constantly pushed boundaries with his personality. Wyatt had been absent from WWE for several months due to an unexplained health condition.

He had been a member of WWE since 2009, except for the brief period in 2021 and 2022 when he was unexpectedly let off, as per ABC News.

Last September, Rotunda made a triumphant comeback to WWE with a suspenseful plotline that included cryptic vignettes, which helped increase television viewership.

Why did WWE let go of Bray Wyatt?

Conspiracy theories abound regarding the reasons behind his release, which are still unknown. Some stories claimed that Vince McMahon, the head of the backstage staff, and Wyatt had significant creative differences and found him to be very challenging to deal with.

According to a different theory, Wyatt was unwilling to talk about his health issues and was also uncooperative. Wyatt had a serious problem with the way WWE handled his medical conditions under the direction of its exceptionally talented doctors.

Despite rejoining the organization later, Wyatt remained silent about the real cause of his initial dismissal from WWE.
