What is the new format on 'The Masked Singer' Season 9? Panelists to wear 'mantle of special powers'
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: FOX is coming back with yet another season 'The Masked Singer'. This time a few things have been shuffled to break the monotony of the old format. The contestant who wins the hearts of the panelists will get a special chance in the show even if they are not able to bag enough votes.
Panelists Ken Jeong, Jenny McCarthy Wahlberg, Nicole Scherzinger, and Robin Thicke will return for 'The Masked Singer' Season 9. Along with them returns the host of the show Nick Cannon. Famed celebrities will perform in disguise using masked costumes. These singers won't remove their masks until the elimination or the finale — whichever comes first. The show will be streamed live in front of a studio audience. The fate of each masked singer will be in the hands of the live audience. The one masked singer who managed to lure everyone with his/her voice will get the chance to survive till the end and take home the winner's crown. Keep reading to know what is changing and what remains the same in Season 9 of 'The Masked Singer'.

What is 'Ding Dong Keep it On' Bell?
Every episode of 'The Masked Singer' Season 9 is set to feature three new masked singers. After their first performance, the one masked singer who will get the least votes will be unmasked before the audience before leaving the competition. The other two will go ahead for the 'Battle Royale' round. The new feature that has been introduced on the show is the 'Ding Dong Keep it On' bell. This new addition to the show will give the panelists the chance to save a singer. Indeed, the fate of one lucky masked singer will be in the panelists' hands.
'Champion of The Masked Singer'
The new rule has given a few benefits to 'The Masked Singer' panelists. Another new feature that has been added to the show is 'Champion of The Masked Singer.' This twist allows sudden eliminations and double unmasking. In the 'Opening Night' episode of 'The Masked Singer' Season 9, we will see Mustang, Medusa, and Gnome competing against each other. One who wins among these three will go ahead for the 'ABBA Night.'
