Ozzy Osbourne turned 72 on Thursday, December 3, while spending decades in the spotlight. There is no doubt his name is popular in music, but his fashion game cannot be beaten easily off also. Though the ‘Prince of Darkness’ has stopped making music now, his legend lives on long. For example, a day before his birthday, Osbourne won the GQ: Men of the Year Lifetime Achievement award as he rocked a black velvet robe. During a recent interview with the magazine, the television personality said, “I’ve done some pretty outrageous things in my life. I regret cheating on my wife. I don’t do it anymore. I got my reality check and I’m lucky she didn’t leave me. I’m not proud of that. I was pissed off with myself. But I broke her heart.”

So since it’s ‘Under the Graveyard’ singer’s birthday today, it is worth shedding light on his life and net worth.

The early life of Osbourne

Osbourne was born as John Michael Osbourne on December 3, 1948, in Birmingham. But since childhood, he was more popular as “Ozzy” and after listening to ‘She Loves You’ by the Beatles, he knew his calling. However, the path was not smooth. At the age of 15, he left school and began doing some odd jobs, such as a construction site laborer, trainee plumber, apprentice toolmaker, and car factory horn-tuner.

The ‘Children of the Grave’ singer was first hired by Geezer Butler to form a band, called Rare Breed, but it did not last long. But the two did not end the contact and eventually, Tony Iommi and drummer Bill Ward joined them. Together, they all formed the band, Black Sabbath. As the vocalist of the group, he became so famous that even an untrained ear can recognize his characteristic voice. But his stint with Black Sabbath ended in 1979 due to excessive substance abuse and erratic behavior.

After saying goodbye to the band, Osbourne began his own thing with Blizzard of Ozz, a new band. He also had an amazing solo career. Apart from these, the legend started Ozzfest in partnership with his wife, Sharon, which ultimately led to an MTV series – ‘Battle for Ozzfest.’ He also made his appearance in reality shows, such as  ‘The Osbournes’ and ‘Ozzy & Jack’s World Detour.’

What is the net worth of Ozzy Osbourne?

According to The Cinemaholic, Osbourne’s net worth is $220 million. The report said that most of his earnings are the result of his music career, which consisted of his work with Black Sabbath as well as his stint as a solo artist. Also, since Ozzfest’s inception, around five million have attended it, giving a profit of more than $100 million. The other modes of his earnings are reportedly via brand endorsements and commercials and the ‘World of Warcraft‘ video game. In addition, ‘Guitar Hero World Tour’ – a music rhythm video game – has Osbourne as one of its playable characters. The father-of-six has also made a lot of money through his autobiography ‘I Am Ozzy’.
