An otherwise innocent corporate retreat turns deadly when a malicious force brutally terrorizes the group of unsuspecting young executives. The pleasure getaway soon erupts in bloodshed and gore, and there's little that the unfortunate victims can do to ensure their survival. In short, that's the gist of the upcoming workplace horror comedy movie 'Corporate Retreat', starring 'Succession' star Alan Ruck, who played Connor Roy in the leading role. Furthermore, the movie's theatrical release date is scheduled for later this year, as per ComingSoon.net.

The trailer, which recently dropped on YouTube, depicts a group of young executives who are somehow fooled into participating in a company retreat. However, things soon go downhill as the group discovers, to their horror, that the one who organized the retreat is none other than their vindictive former boss, Arthur, played by Ruck. To give expression to his perverse desires, Arthur forces the members of the group to participate in deadly survival games. The result is an effortless display of gore-based horror, with a periodic flow of humor that keeps the pace going.

'Corporate Retreat' is directed by Aaron Fisher of 'Inside the Rain' fame. Fisher co-wrote the screenplay with Kerri Lee Romeo, as reported by Variety Magazine. The film has been produced by Uri Singer, who had previously exalted Fisher in a statement when the director came on board to helm the project: "We’re thrilled to welcome Alan to the team. His unique ability to seamlessly blend comedy and drama is truly exceptional. Alan has that rare talent to make audiences laugh even in moments of suspense and horror, perfectly aligning with the tone we’re aiming for in ‘Corporate Retreat.'”

Alongside Ruck, the film's cast also includes Rosanna Arquette, who is still remembered for her appearance in 'Pulp Fiction'. 'Goosebumps' star Odeya Rush will also be seen in the upcoming horror movie. The other members of the cast are Elia Kacavas, Sasha Lane, Zion Moreno, Ashton Sanders, Tyler Alvarez, Benjamin Norris, Ellen Tolan, and Kirby Johnson. Famous horror movie makeup artist Gary J. Tunnicliffe, whose previous works include 'Halloween: Resurrection' and the 'Scream' film franchise, has worked on the film's special effects makeup.

Despite contributing to films such as 'Speed,' 'Ferris Bueller's Day Off,' and 'Twister, Ruck became a household name owing to his performance as Connor Roy in 'Succession'. The role even earned him a Primetime Emmy Award, with the rest of the show's cast receiving similar honors. In the series, Connor was a complex character who struggled with low self-esteem while trying his best to secure his father's approval. Ruck portrayed Roy with remarkable restraint and nuance, thus ensuring that the character stands out from his other siblings, such as Siobhan Roy and Kendall Roy.
