What is the plot of ‘A Winning Team’?

In the film, Nadia Hatta plays Emily Chen, a professional soccer player who finds herself out of the game and chooses to visit her widowed brother and niece, Ava, when she accidentally hurts the laid-back small-town coach Ian Vermette, played by Kristoffer Polaha.

Emily covers it up and leads her niece's team to the playoffs, but their opposing mentorship styles imperil the team's chances. However, they slowly warm up to each other on and off the field. As they form a new relationship, Emily and Ian begin to heal old wounds. Emily's relationship with Ian is put at risk when she receives a proposal from her old coach to come back to professional soccer. Can they rejoin the same team in time for the big game?

‘A Winning Team’ will be available to stream on the Hallmark channel on March 18, 2023, at 8 pm ET.
