'Daredevil: Born Again' returned with another action-packed installment of the vigilante drama on April 7 on Disney+. Episode 4, titled 'Gloves Off,' sees Daredevil and Bullseye in a conflict as the latter goes after Wilson Fisk and his wife, Vanessa. The mayor gets heat from his political allies for destroying the Northern Star ship and affecting the delivery of illegal weapons through the Red Hook free port. Things come to a head at a public boxing match, where Bullseye attacks the mayor, leading to a devastating loss that will change the course of the story.

Ever since Bullseye, aka Dex, saved Daredevil's life in the Season 2 premiere of 'Daredevil: Born Again,' fans have been wondering what his true motives were in saving his sworn enemy. This week's episode offers a glimpse into the unpredictable vigilante's mental state after he escaped prison at the end of Season 1. He calls 9-1-1 from a local diner, claiming that Frank Castle / the Punisher is threatening to shoot the place up, prompting the AVTF to show up armed with guns. However, they are no match for the skilled assassin, who uses everything from straws to toothpicks and forks to kill all the agents swiftly.

Murdock takes one look at the crime scene and realizes it's the work of none other than Bullseye. The two finally come face-to-face in Dex's apartment and get into a physical confrontation as Murdock tries to appeal to his better judgment. Bullseye takes his elderly neighbor hostage, proving that he hasn't outgrown his ruthless streak completely. But he surprises Daredevil by talking about doing "one good deed" to clear his conscience.

Meanwhile, Karen is busy building a strong case against Fisk and his anti-vigilante task force. She gets in touch with Christofi Savva, one of the survivors of the destroyed Northern Star ship. He confirms that the ship was carrying illegal weapons and was able to bypass normal regulations and inspections under the orders of the 'Kingpin.' Matt and Karen decide to contact his former law partner, Kirsten McDuffie, to formally record a statement. With help from Angela Del Toro, the duo manages to share incriminating information against the Task Force with journalist BB Urich, who has been secretly reporting on Fisk's crimes during the broadcast of the BB Report.

Mayor Fisk is under pressure from Governor Marge McCaffrey and Mr. Charles after he gave the order to blow up the Northern Star ship in Episode 3, which delays the shipment of illegal weapons. In Episode 4, he participates in a high-profile boxing match at Fogwell’s Gym, as part of the 'Born Again' campaign to rehabilitate his image. He easily defeats his opponent in the match and parades around in a display of power and dominance. However, his victory lap comes to an end when Bullseye suddenly attacks, sending people scrambling for safety. After taking down a couple of AVTF agents, he hurls an object at Fisk's wife, Vanessa, who shoots back at him.

Fans may remember that Vanessa was the one who ordered Bullseye to kill Matt's friend Foggy Nelson, setting up their rivalry. Despite Daredevil and Bullseye sharing a common enemy in Fisk, the horned vigilante's moral code doesn't allow him to stand by and watch the lethal assassin mercilessly murder Fisk. So Daredevil tackles him to the ground. However, Dex manages to escape the scene, with Daredevil chasing him. But Vanessa is not so lucky, as she gets wounded in the scuffle and seemingly dies after she is found with a shard of glass in her neck. Tune in next Tuesday at 9 p.m. ET on Disney+ to witness Fisk unleashing his revenge.
