Responding to Swift's invitation, Kloss, known for her baking prowess and collaboration with Momofuku Milk Bar's Christina Tosi for her line of treats called 'Karlie's Kookies,' accepted on the same day the article was published.

Although, their friendship bloomed in 2013 when Swift and Kloss crossed paths backstage at the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show. At the 2013 Victoria's Secret Fashion Show, Swift took to the runway performing 'I Knew You Were Trouble.'

Kloss, second in line for the 'Snow Angels' segment, playfully pointed at Swift while lip-syncing her lyrics as she walked the ramp.

She further added, "It's nice to meet another American girl, we're the same age, and she's so inspiring — she's so talented and true to who she is. She's a cool girl, and I'm glad she's in the show this year, she rocked it."

A month later, Kloss reiterated that her interaction with Swift was her "favorite" moment from the show. From road trips to joint Vogue covers, they formed a close bond, even sharing social media snapshots of their adventures.

They quickly became inseparable. Kloss even held a bedroom in Swift's New York apartment, solidifying their connection.

The apparent downturn in their friendship began around the time of Swift's 'Look What You Made Me Do' music video, in which she donned a T-shirt with tons of names of her BFFs and didn't include Kloss, as per Insider. 

Following the 'LWYMMD' gate saga, Kloss ceased making public appearances together, sparking speculations among fans. Some even conjectured that the 'Evermore' bonus track 'It’s Time to Go' might allude to their potential falling out.

However, Swift seemingly addressed these claims in a sort of indirect manner via an Instagram post.

While the exact cause remains a subject of speculation, fans have pointed to this incident as a possible trigger for their apparent falling-out.
