STURGIS, KENTUCKY: '1000-lb Sisters' Season 5 star Amy Slaton doesn't have a 9 to 5 job but she does have other ways to earn plenty of dollars. The reality star has an active YouTube channel, which she makes videos for while she films '1000-lb Sisters'.

She also offers Cameo videos to her fans and also promotes small businesses on her social media. Besides these, Amy makes thousands of dollars by starring in the TLC show.

Meanwhile, Amy's now ex-husband, Michael Halterman works as a mill operator at Shamrock Technologies. In the latest teaser of '1000-lb Sisters' Season 5 Episode 2, Amy broke down in tears as she described her struggles to her family.

The reality star felt like she weighed the world on her shoulders as she tried to parent two toddlers, care for her family, and be a wife to Michael. She admitted, "I was good before Glenn was born. I had it under control."

The reality star added, "And then when he was born, it just went PSHEW!" However, as Amy felt overwhelmed by the responsibilities, she decided to hire a nanny to help out.

However, when she decided to hire a helping hand, fans wondered if she made enough money to pay the nanny. An Instagram user wrote, "Do any of these people have jobs, how do they manage kids, house etc!"

Another person added, "I really want to know what she does other than TLC show." Another critic added, "Honest question: what do they do all day? Do either of them have real jobs?"

Another viewer said, "Neither of them work right? I assume their income is from disability? We know Amy has the eye issue but why isn’t Michael working? And how can they afford a nanny on a disability check? 🤦‍♀️"

Another social media user commented, "Wait a sec, neither Amy nor Michael work and they need a Nanny?"

Amy Slaton claims she's 'not allowed' to go anywhere without her kids

In the latest teaser of '1000-lb Sisters' Season 5, Amy Slaton admitted that she was 'exhausted all the time' while raising her sons Gage, 3, and Glenn, 17 months. After her confession of wanting a nanny, her sister Amanda Halterman told Amy that she wasn’t alone.

Amanda reminded Amy that Michael, 40, was "perfectly capable of taking care of these kids for you to have a moment." Amanda then called Michael into the room to have him help Amy record a video asking potential nannies questions.

While Amy noted that getting a nanny would help, Amanda argued that Michael also needed to step up. Amy said that getting a nanny meant that there would be 'somebody to take care' of the kids so that she could go to therapy to work through her depression.

Meanwhile, Amy then claimed, "I'm not allowed to go anywhere without my kids is what he told me." She added, "Michael does not want to watch both of the kids at the same time when he’s alone, so I always have to bring at least one kid."

She explained in a confessional, "I don’t know if it’s because he don’t want to watch them by himself or it’s because he can’t watch them by himself and play a video game at the same time."

However, Tammy has reportedly been helping out raising Amy's kids after her explosive divorce with Michael. A source close to The US Sun revealed, "She has been taking care of [Gage and Glenn] a lot."

The source added, "[Tammy] says it really gives her a great purpose." The insider further noted, "She got to babysit her nephews though overnight by herself, which was huge for her."
