'We've lost all humanity': Oakland man Tzu-Ta Ko, 100, who was killed in hit-and-run suffered severe head trauma

OAKLAND, CALIFORNIA: Police in Oakland, California, said they're searching for a driver who crashed his vehicle into 100-year-old man in a hit-and-run incident. He has been identified as Asian-origin Tzu-Ta Ko from Oakland.

The elderly man was hit at an intersection just after 7 am on Sunday, February 19, according to police. Tzu-Ta Ko suffered severe head trauma, said police, adding that they have released images of the suspect's car on Tuesday, February 21. They described it as a tan or white Mini Cooper.

$10000 reward announced for identifying the suspect 

A reward of up to $10,000 has been made available for information leading to an arrest, according to police. Anyone with relevant information can contact the Oakland police at 510-777-8570.

Meanwhile, the news of the centenarians dead in hit and run has angered the netizens. One user wrote, "Guy makes it to 100 years and some a****** kills him with a car..." Another one seconded similar thoughts and wrote, "Imagine living to 100 just to have some a****** in a mini hit you in the street and leave you for dead." 

'No such thing as kindness'

One of the users said that the one involved in the killing was a sick loser, saying the news was disturbing. "Sick losers The man lived 100 years and has to die because of a maniac behind the wheel, disturbing! So many angry people in this world, like it’s pretty out of control everywhere, there’s no such thing as kindness, too many evil, hateful, resentful, unpleasant sickos. Beware." One more simply wrote, "So sad".

"So sad at any age, but to live so long to be taken out like that is terrible," another user wrote. One more expressed, "That's somebody's family member." One pointed out, "we have lost all humanity."



 



 



 

Police are investigating whether alcohol was a factor in the hit-and-run incident. They said that the victim died due to severe head trauma from the collision was given first aid by Oakland Fire Department (OFD) and Falck Ambulance who arrived on the scene, however, the victim succumbed to his injuries.
