Spoilers for 'Westworld' Season 3, Episode 7 Passed Pawn

'Westworld' has been building up for a showdown between Maeve  Millay (Thandie Newton) and Dolores (Evan Rachel Wood) for most of the season. The fans, however, feel like Maeve's arc has not been reason enough to see the two hosts pitted against each other and seem united in wanted Maeve and Dolores to team up instead.

"Don’t know but this Maeve just sucks! ... btw I’m team Maeve, she is The queen but she is kind of lost this season," writes a conflicted user, on Twitter. A viewer writes, "I don't appreciate seeing Maeve and Dolores going against each other. Frankly, I hate Maeve now." This fan puts their feelings out very clearly, writing, "1.) I hate the whole Dolores vs Maeve angle 2.) I could care less about the whole “Caleb” storyline  3.) The finale better have Maeve and Dolores join forces to kill Serac and create more of their kind."

"Can I be both #TeamDolores and #TeamMaeve? Just TeamHost?" asks this viewer.

"I've gotten whiplash from Maeve going from being my favorite host to absolute least favorite. If they aren't setting up an eventual team-up with Dolores, I'm not sure how much more of her I can handle. Why is she so trusting of Serac??" asks a fan, on Reddit. "I really just don’t get Maeve’s motivation. She’s intelligent enough to understand this isn’t about picking sides - and hell it isn’t even about her daughter really - like, how does this match up against each other even make sense. They should’ve built it up differently if this is the direction they were going to go," writes this fan. "It’s an insult to Maeve’s character to just have everything be about her daughter again. Maeve willingly let her go into the Sublime with her new host mother, she left her behind. She’s also not putting up enough resistance to Serac. That’s not the Maeve I know and love," writes another viewer.

Even die-hard fans of the character who enjoyed the Maeve-Dolores fight wish the show had set up the conflict better. "I wish they would give her another reason to be fighting (even if Serrac is forcing her). Cause I love Maeve, and her fighting (and general interactions with other characters) is a visual delight," says this viewer.

Though the two have fought to a stalemate this episode, the promo for next week features the two going up against one another in the finale - but will they continue to fight against each other, or will their interests finally align?

The next episode of 'Westworld' airs May 5 on HBO.
