'Welcome to Plathville': Kim Plath had refused to have any of her guests at Ethan and Olivia's wedding if alcohol was served
The Plath family was introduced to the world as they made their debut by appearing on 'Welcome to Plathville'. In the season premiere of the show, the viewers were introduced to the family members of the Plath family. However, one member who is now following a different route in life is the oldest son, Ethan.
Ethan recently got married to Olivia, who has a different take on life when compared to the Plaths. The Plath family is known to live in their massive 55-acre farmland and away from people, with the nearest town being 10 miles away from their home and enjoying their life in their farmland.
However, things are not the same for Olivia. Olivia is a free-spirited person who loves to explore new things in life. Life for Ethan changed when Olivia stepped into his life. She introduced him to new things which included tasting a soda, having sweet and also trying out alcohol. Prior to meeting Olivia, Ethan stated that he never knew he could love the things that his parents didn't allow them to have. While Kim and Barry Plath gave their blessings for the wedding, there was one condition that she placed and that was there could be no alcohol at the wedding.
Kim was clear that she wasn't going to allow alcohol at the wedding as she added that none of the guests would show up if there was alcohol at the wedding. The reason behind Kim's decision stemmed from her past as she was an alcoholic. Kim did not want her children to follow the same path and thus, made sure that none of them tried alcohol.
At the same time, Olivia revealed that Kim advised Ethan to break up with her as she was not pleased with the lifestyle that she lived. Kim and Barry have always been traditional and Olivia was different from them. Despite his parent's concerns, Ethan decided to listen to his heart and marry Olivia. But will this relationship survive parents' expectations? We just have to wait to find out.
