Ethan Plath found himself in the middle of the drama between his mother, Kim, and wife, Olivia. However, there is more to the story than what meets the eye. Speaking to YouTuber Katie Joy, Ethan revealed that he does not share a good relationship with his mother and they haven't spoken to each other in nearly a month.

Ethan revealed even while growing up, they did not share a close bond. He recalled that the last time he had hugged his mother was when he was 12. At the same time, he did not remember his mother making a meal for him.

He revealed that the duty of preparing food for the family members usually landed on his sisters and their mother would often not engage in any household activities. When Ethan was asked why he does not talk to his mother anymore, he stated that it is because Kim is "selfish, stubborn and doesn't look out for anyone but herself."

Ethan and Kim started having differences after Olivia joined the family. Olivia gave Ethan the opportunity to step out of the shell that his mother had created for him and allowed him to explore the world by himself.

While growing up, Ethan faced various restrictions and his knowledge was limited to the 55 acres of land that the family was living on. All the Plath children were homeschooled, which limited their options to make friends and know more about the outside world.

Luckily for Ethan, he got to witness all the new things along with Olivia's help. Ethan learned what sugar tasted like and even started going to the gym. Even though Kim and Barry were not happy to see the changes that were slowly taking place in Ethan, they soon realized that things were out of their reach to fix.

While the relationship of the Plath family with Ethan and Olivia has become difficult, viewers might get to see the reason behind it on the show.
