Ethan and Olivia Plath have been struggling to get their marriage back on track. The pair felt the pressure of Ethan's family and it slowly started affecting their relationship. Kim and Barry Plath made it clear that they were not a fan of Olivia. They seemed hesitant to invite her to the house when they were not present.

During this time, Ethan failed to stand up for her like she would have wished. This affected their relationship as the tension between them grew stronger. However, the pair have been working on their relationship ever since Ethan told his parents that he does not want any connection with them.

In the latest episode on November 17, Ethan decided to make breakfast for Olivia as she worked on her website. The stress of not finding enough work amid the pandemic made Olivia fearful of what might happen. Amid this, Ethan decided to take up the task of making breakfast but ended up irritating Olivia.

Olivia admitted Ethan was not good at understanding emotions, and that had affected their relationship. At the same time, she revealed her emotions were taking control of her as her period had just started. Speaking to the camera, Ethan stated that growing up with his family limited his knowledge about a lot of things.

Ethan admitted for a long time he thought the period was like a nose bleed. He confessed that his parents never educated him about such things. At the same time, Ethan revealed he never faced his emotions and would often bury them deep down inside. He admitted that letting his mind be occupied by other things helped him shove those feelings aside.

However, after his marriage to Olivia, Ethan hinted he was trying hard to understand emotions. Fans of the show were quick to comment on Ethan not knowing what a period is. "Damnn seems like they don’t really know sh*t," one user tweeted. "He never knew about periods??? How many sisters did he have? I am blown away," wrote another.

"Okay, did I hear that right? Ethan didn't know what a girl's 'period' was?? A nose bleed?? Like #wtf I don't think they are 'bad parents', because I can clearly see the love they have for their children, but very narrow-minded and somewhat ignorant," wrote another. "He didn't even know what a period was... oh gosh..." another shocked user wrote.

'Welcome To Plathville' airs on Sundays at 10 pm ET on TLC.
