'We still haven’t forgiven you': Internet trolls Jill Stein over 3rd White House bid for Green Party
WASHINGTON, DC: Renowned doctor and activist Jill Stein is once again throwing her hat into the political arena, announcing on Thursday, November 9, her intention to seek the 2024 Green Party nomination for the presidency. This marks Stein's third attempt at a White House bid, following her unsuccessful third-party campaigns in 2012 and 2016, as per New York Post.
The political system is broken. Over 60% of us now say the two-party establishment has failed us and we need a party that serves the people.

Jill Stein's candidacy adds to the left-wing challenges Joe Biden may face
In a recent X post unveiling her new campaign, Stein expressed her dissatisfaction with the current political landscape, stating, “The political system is broken. Over 60% of us now say the two-party establishment has failed us and we need a party that serves the people.”
Emphasizing her commitment to providing a viable alternative, she added, “I’m running for President to offer a better choice for the people.”
Stein's entry into the 2024 presidential race adds another dimension to the left-wing challenges President Biden may face. Cornel West, a prominent far-left activist and professor who initially pursued the Green Party nomination, has now shifted gears, opting to run for president as an independent.
Joining him is environmental lawyer and anti-vaccine advocate Robert F Kennedy Jr, who recently withdrew from the Democratic primary. Meanwhile, Biden, 80, contends with internal party competition from Rep Dean Phillips (D-Minn), who declared his intention to primary the incumbent last month.
Jill Stein pledges to 'end endless war and rampant militarism'
A recent CNN poll showed former President Donald Trump leading Biden by 4 percentage points in a hypothetical 2020 election rematch. In the same poll, Kennedy Jr. secured 16% support, and West garnered 4% in a four-way race.
Stein, addressing the current political landscape, stated, “Both Democrats and Republicans have betrayed their promises again and again. Political insiders always smear outsiders like us, and try to shame voters who want better choices. But without freedom of choice in elections, there is no democracy.”
Stein's campaign platform includes ambitious promises, such as providing “living-wage jobs for all Americans,” free healthcare, housing, food, and education, abolishing medical and student debt, and creating a “Green New Deal.”
She also pledged to “end endless war and rampant militarism, and use diplomacy and international law to end violence, occupation, and apartheid.”
In her 2016 presidential campaign, she secured around 1.4 million votes, equivalent to 1.1%, a significant increase from the 469,501 votes, or 0.4%, she attained in her 2012 endeavor.
Online reactions to Jill Stein's third presidential run
In response to Stein's announcement, internet users took to social media, expressing their fatigue with her repeated presidential endeavors.
One user on X sarcastically remarked, "Didn't you try this already? How did that end for you?" Another user questioned, "Sis…we still haven’t forgiven you for the last time you pulled this shit."
Didn't you try this already? How did that end for you? 🙄
