'We Own This City': Fans praise masterful storytelling, but wonder about HBO's obsession with Baltimore
'We Own This City' premiered to some positive responses on social media. For those unaware, the series is based on the true story of the corrupt cop force in the 21st century. The six-episode series follows the Gun Trace Task Force (GTTF) of Baltimore led by Wayne Jenkins (Bernthal).
According to The Baltimore Sun, members of this once-respected and highly decorated force were convicted on federal racketeering charges following an in-depth investigation that brought to light years of robbery, extortion, and other crimes committed.
