'Watchmen' Episode 2 sees Laurie Blake, the retired superhero Silk Spectre, as an FBI agent investigating the murder of the chief of police

HBO has released an all-new promo for 'Watchmen' and things have just got a whole lot messier. One of the things that Angela Abar (Regina King) has to deal with is her friend and the Chief of Police Judd Crawford's (Don Johnson) death.

In dealing with the same, Angela as Sister Night crosses path with Will Reeves, a 105-year-old man who confesses to having strung up the Chief in the first place.

How can a man in a wheelchair be able to string up another human being from a tree? Sister Night asks herself the same question as she drives away from where Crawford was strung up.

She also has to figure out who Reeves really is. All we know about him so far is that he is the little boy who escaped the race riots. What his journey has been through the years and what his motivation was behind killing Crawford is something that we would have to explore along with Angela.

The episode will also introduce Laurie Blake (Jean Smart), who used to be the Silk Spectre, but has retired and is now an FBI agent.

It looks like everyone is pointing fingers at the Seventh Kavalry for Crawford's murder, and Blake, who is investigating it, is not ready to take the word of the cops on this one.

We see her speak to someone who doesn't think the Seventh Kavalry is involved and this makes us wonder. Are we finally moving to the phase of the show where cops are no better than pigs?

Cops were never trustworthy in the universe of 'Watchmen' in the first place, and maybe that doesn't change in the future either.

Especially considering we see pigs running amok everywhere in the promo, we definitely think that the villainous sides of the cops will be seen not too far in the future.

One of the scenes in the promo especially supports this speculation as we see cops hold a line of men who are blindfolded. Chances are, these men have been picked on suspicions of being involved the Seventh Kavalry but from the way the interrogation seems to be held, these men may not have a say at all in claiming innocence.

And finally, the blue tree that Sister Night stands in front of, which reflects the image of Will Reeves as a little boy hints at a connection between Reeves, Ozymandias and Dr Manhattan.

How the show will untangle these connections is going to be an exciting watch. The next episode of 'Watchmen' will air on HBO at 9 pm ET on Sunday.
