Watching Miley Cyrus perform in ‘Sunny Hill Festival’ was a dream come true for Dua Lipa: ‘I almost cried’
The ‘Don’t Start Now’ singer Dua Lipa, along with her father Dukagjin Lipa, founded the ‘Sunny Hill Festival’, the biggest musical event to be organized in Kosovo. Last year, the event has a star-studded lineup, highlighted by Miley Cyrus.
Dua Lipa who appeared on tonight’s 'The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon', spoke about her upcoming album, winning two Grammys and most importantly, bringing Miley Cyrus to perform at her music festival.
The dynamic duo broke the internet when they took to the stage and lit the night with their enthralling performances last year. Although, Dua Lipa is a big name herself, in conversation with Jimmy Fallon she revealed that she was in tears when Miley graced her event.
Defining the moment as one of her dreams coming true, the ‘New Rules’ singer stated, “She was amazing and absolutely crushed it. I almost cried.” She also told the host how overwhelming it was to have a female international singer performance at the music festival for the first time in two years.
It wasn’t a task for Dua Lipa to approach Miley. She previously told ET, "I just kind of reached out to her and asked her if she would be down. I'm just so grateful to her, because in Kosovo, we've never had an international female artist like Miley come down to do a show like that."
The singer at the age of 24 has achieved great heights which is still perceived as a dream by established musicians. She has racked two Grammys and has been nominated for three Brit Awards in a career spanning over less than five years!
Addressing her recent Grammy win, she said, “I am freaking out. It definitely made me work harder. I never imagined my first record could do that.”
Dua Lipa will be returning to 'The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon' tomorrow for a special orchestral performance.
