A Lacrosse "team mom" has been sentenced to ten years after she sexually exploited her son's friend at a sleepover. 46-year-old Su Hyon Dillon initiated sex with her son's 11-year-old pal after going into his bedroom at night. Court files detailed how she entered the room before laying next to him on the bed and molesting him. She then forced him to have sex with her in their Puyallup, Washington residence. According to the report, the boy told her “he was concerned he would get her pregnant and she said she had her tubes tied.” Dillon has now received 10 years to life after pleading guilty to first and second degree child rapes.

However, she will only serve a year behind bars. The rest of her sentence is suspended in order to get her treatment, albeit she must register as a sex offender. Investigators revealed how Dillon's victim, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was a friend of her son via the Emerald Ridge Lacrosse Club, where she was reportedly known as the "team mom."

Court records stated that the romps took place at her home, as well as at hotels when the team played away games between May 2014 and May 2015. The boy revealed to the police that he was only 10 when Dillon allegedly kissed him on the lips at her house, thereby beginning a sexual relationship with him. After that, he spent a lot of time at Dillon's place since he was friends with her son who was on the team. He added that they had sex four times: twice at Dillon's home, once at his house and once during a Lacrosse trip in San Diego.

The court documents further stated, “He said one time on a ride home she pulled over and told him that what they were doing was a secret because she wanted their relationship to continue and become more serious”, and that “the first time they had sex he was spending the night at her house”.

The victim later started displaying suicidal tendencies and began cutting himself. His mom told police how he had started skipping classes and was sent to live with his dad in Virginia. The boy spoke about Dillon's abuse during a counselling session at the time, thereby sparking a probe in 2019. Last April, when interviewed by investigators, Dillon denied having sex with the child, and said she was not the "team mom," but would help out the team. Court documents state that Dillon initially tried to blame the child for their sexual encounters, saying he had initiated the relationship.

"But an 11-year-old cannot initiate sexual contact with a female adult,” said Pierce County Sheriff’s spokesman detective Ed Troyer. “The female adult has all the culpability here.” She later admitted to having sex with the victim, saying that she "was the adult and should have known better." She also admitted to "having problems in her marriage and that the victim made her feel good."

Dillon said she did not have romantic feelings for the boy but “liked the attention.” “This is somebody who has taken advantage of kids who are 10 and 11 years old," Det. Troyer told the Tacoma News Tribune. “They’re not able to make those types of decisions at that age.

“This is disturbing as a parent because you are sending your kid off to a friend’s house with what appeared to be a parent or parents who also coached the team, upstanding in the community, only to have your son victimised," he added.
