'Was it Love' Episode 8 began with Ryu Jin (Song Jong-ho) confronting Dae-o in Ae-jeong's (Song Ji-hyo) office over Dae-o's (Son Jun-ho) decision to pursue Ae-jeong romantically again. The two of them believe that Ae-jeong is sleeping and at this time Ryu Jin tells Dae-o that he liked Ae-jeong. Before he could expand further, they get interrupted by Ah-rin and her manager who arrive with food for Dae-o as he is working overtime. Once Ah-rin and Ae-jeong leave, Ryu Jin approaches Dae-o and tells him how he was the first one to like Ae-jeong.

He tells Dae-o that he had liked Ae-jeong even before Dae-o knew about her and also says that he cannot back out now that he has come this far and is too deeply involved with her. A lot of what Ryu Jin is saying at the moment is influenced by his suspicions that Ha-nee could be his daughter. However, he doesn't reveal anything about that one night that Ae-jeong called by mistake to Dae-o. Instead, when Dae-o asks Ryu Jin if he is going abandon their friendship over this, Ryu Jin has no answer and this confirms Dae-o's worst fears.

Dae-o also wonders after Ryu Jin confesses to him about why his senior had helped him confess to Ae-jeong in the past. Despite being in love with her himself, he had taken up Dae-o's case and supported him. He confessed his feelings for her and in the end made it seem as if the confession was coming from Dae-o and all of this in hindsight confuses Dae-o further.

However, after pondering over this entire situation over night, Dae-o decides that he cannot give up on Ae-jeong this time. He even tells Ryu Jin that he would rather the two of them pursue her in their own ways, independently and not play dirty in an attempt to receive her affection. In this vein, Dae-o tries his best to work hard on the film that is close to Ae-jeong's heart.

At the end of episode 8, Dae-o even ends up going on a trip to get the support of a player in Ae-jeong's production company by digging up clams with him. Something that the celebrated author wouldn't have done for anyone else. However, when he sees Ae-jeong act wary around him, he loses his temper and asks her why she has built this invisible wall when it comes to him and how it is fair that she not even appreciate the hard work that he has done for their film.

He tells her that he could have probably accepted her not treating him like in the past on the personal front, but is confused about why she draws this line even on the professional front. This argument blows up to a scale where Dae-o brings up the past and pushes Ae-jeong to a corner until she is just a moment away from giving in to Dae-o. The episode closes at this moment and leaves not just the viewers anticipating about what Ae-jeong is going to do, but also the other three men who are competing for Ae-jeong's attention and affection -- Ryu Jin, Yeon-woo, and Koo Pa-do.

New episodes of 'Was it Love?' will air on JTBC at 9.30 pm on Wednesdays and Thursday and will be available to stream on Netflix.
