NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC) chairman, Senator Steve Daines from Montana has urged all candidates in the 2024 GOP presidential primary to withdraw from the race, except for former President Donald Trump, and to coalesce behind Trump.

He told Politico, “I was surprised, but I think that’s the right move,” when former Vice President Mike Pence announced his withdrawal from the presidential race on Saturday, October 28 during the Republican Jewish Coalition in Las Vegas.

Following this event, Fox News anchor Sean Hannity took to X (formerly Twitter) to update more on the news and what Daines had to say to the rest of the GOP candidates.

However, the internet did not respond positively to the news as several slammed the former President and called him a “wannabe dictator."

Fox News anchor Sean Hannity took to X and wrote, “DAINES: "It’s clear Trump is going to be the nominee for Republicans for president, and the sooner we coalesce around him the better it’s going to be.”

Hannity’s tweet featured an article from his official website titled, “'IT'S CLEAR TRUMP IS NOMINEE': NRSC Chair Daines Calls on Trump Opponents to Drop Out.”

In the article, it was reported that Steve Daines is calling Donald Trump’s GOP opponents to drop out of the 2024 presidential race.

He said, “Because it’s clear President Trump is going to be the nominee for Republicans for president, and the sooner we coalesce around him the better it’s going to be.”

Moreover, Daines had previously given his endorsement to Trump, but his recent call for other candidates to withdraw and support Trump marks a notable escalation, as per Breitbart.

As the chairman of the National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC), Daines holds a key position in managing party finances and resource allocation for US Senate races.

He has also been actively involved in recruiting key Senate candidates across the country, as the Republican Party aims to regain the majority in the Senate.

By calling for other prominent Republicans, including Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, former US Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley, former New Jersey Governor Chris Christie, Senator Tim Scott, businessman Vivek Ramaswamy, and others to exit the presidential race and rally behind Trump, Senator Steve Daines is making a significant and influential move.

It goes beyond just endorsing Trump, it's a clear message from a prominent figure within the party.

Daines is steering the conversation towards what many believe to be inevitable but some in the influential donor and establishment consultant circles have been hesitant to acknowledge - that Trump is likely to be the GOP's presidential nominee for the third consecutive election.

After Sean Hannity reported on Steve Daines' remarks about Donald Trump, people expressed their fury on social media and brutally slammed the ex-POTUS.

One person simply said, “He will be in Jail!!!” and another followed, “I'm sure you'll have plenty of time for that on visiting day.”

A user added, “You guys are in for a rude awakening when he loses in 2024. You're gonna be even more shocked when he's thrown in prison.”

One person simply called out Trump saying, “America doesn't want a wannabe dictator. Trump can be the nominee, but he won't get elected. Real Americans remember January 6th... and we outnumber MAGA!”

A user wrote, “Don't use coalesce, he won't have any idea what you are talking about. Just say join together.”  Another person expressed a similar opinion, “It's clear Trump will lose 2024...despite his lies that he won.”

A user trolled Trump saying, “The GOP literally has millions of qualified Republicans that could do the job but they choose chaos,” and another said, “Sorry, but I hope not. This country cannot withstand the strain of another Glass Joe or Trump the Terrible term in office.”
