Spoilers for 'WandaVision' Episode 4

Samuel L Jackson has been an integral part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but he does not appear to be a major player in Marvel's new miniseries, 'WandaVision.' For that matter, the world has moved on from the former SHIELD director. The latest episode sees the introduction of SWORD and its headquarters. Founded by Maria Rambeau, the best bud of Carol Danvers/Captain America, the organization replaced SHIELD and monitors extraterrestrial threats among other things.

While most Marvel geeks speculated that Samuel L Jackson's Nick Fury would be the obvious choice to head the organization, clearly there has been a change in plans. Tyler Hayward (Josh Stamberg) replaces Fury as the director. Personally, it feels Fury was never part of the plans anyway. This does seem a bit odd, considering Fury played a key role in 'Captain Marvel' and then even popped up with a mission for Peter Parker/Spider-Man in 'Spider-Man: Far From Home.'

Our guess, Fury is probably off scouting more assets for SWORD while also working on a mission of his own. It is unclear if he will show up in 'WandaVision' at some point, but best to not hold our breath. There's very less known about Stamberg's Hayward to say he was pretty much the only choice SWORD had to appoint as a director when Marceau Rambeau was a victim of the "blip." The latest episode does show that Hayward is a no-nonsense guy and doesn't really have the same charisma that Fury had, however, it would be premature to dismiss him as a no-fun chap.

The episode makes startling revelations as it talks about the lead up to the events that saw Westview being viewed as an abnormality. Wanda Maximoff (Elizabeth Olsen) appears to have a hand in the creation of the place. To also answer the question, Vision is dead and is a figment of Wanda's creation. Westview is a perfect sitcom with laughs and perhaps that's what Wanda wanted— a world filled with happiness. What are your thoughts on 'WandaVision' Episode 4?
