Meanwhile, Edgars Rinkēvičs, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Latvia, mocked Zakharova's strawberry video on Twitter, using the Russian phrase, "Liking it or not, endure, my Beauty," which is a saying that refers to forced sex, implying that she is forced to tell lies as Putin's spokesperson, as per The New York Post.
Attached with the tweet was an article with the headline, "Zakharova criticized the inclusion of Ukrainian borscht in the UNESCO heritage list." Zakharova fired back at him through her Telegram Channel and suggested that he might be gay. "Edgars, Beauty is not your specialty. Find a handsome one and let him endure. I am not yours. Or is this your next 'coming out?'" she wrote.

Zakharova is the first female spokesperson in the history of Russia's Foreign Ministry and is reportedly known for her combative communications style and quick-witted barbs, as per the portal. The strawberry video has more than 616k+ views and 4100+ comments. One user commented, "Gorgeous!!! I don't see anything wrong here! Some things are even scarier. Maria, you are great!" Another said, "[okay hand emoji] everything is thought out, as always at the highest level!"
A third replied, "Beautiful and smart. A fan of her creative work." In November 2016, Zakharova was criticized for making anti-semitic jokes on Russian television. She alleged that the US election results were the result of a Russian Jewish conspiracy. Zakharova said, "I have a lot of friends and acquaintances there, of course, I was interested to find out: how are the elections going, what are the American people's expectations?"
She added, "If you want to know what will happen in America, who do you need to talk to? You have to talk to the Jews, of course. It goes without saying." Zakharova continued, "If you want to know the future, don't read the mainstream newspapers - our people in Brighton [Beach] will tell you everything," she said, referring to a Brooklyn area that is home to a large number of Jewish immigrants from the former Soviet Union, as per Telegraph.
