HUDSON, NEW HAMPSHIRE: Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy recently demonstrated his commitment to the Second Amendment during a visit to a gun range in New Hampshire, coupled with a display of his wife's shooting skills.

Following the Thanksgiving holiday, Vivek returned to the campaign trail with enthusiasm, beginning his day with a town hall and a practice session at the Granite State Indoor Gun Range in Hudson.

The presidential hopeful fired a pistol and a rifle, achieving what he described as a "decent grouping." He took the opportunity to underscore the vital role of the Second Amendment, asserting, "It's the one amendment that protects all of the other ones."

Vivek urged fellow candidates to familiarize themselves with the Constitution, stating, "If you're going to swear an oath to the Constitution, try reading it."

His wife, Apoorva Ramaswamy, also participated in the gun range activities, with the candidate sharing a video on X (formerly Twitter) captioned, "Future First Lady throwing lead down range," on Saturday, November 25.

Internet reacts to Vivek Ramaswamy's post about wife Apoorva Ramaswamy's shooting skills

The online response to Apoorva Ramaswamy's shooting skills, however, was mixed. Gun enthusiasts on social media offered critiques, suggesting improvements in her stance and form.

One said, "Probably should’ve had her on a shooting range a few more times prior to recording it for the Internet," while another wrote, "Her stance isn’t great… there I said it nicely."

A person mentioned, "She's leaning back too far," with someone else suggesting, "Widen the stance just a tad, a little less stiff in the elbows, soften the knees a touch, lean forward from the hips just a little bit and the recoil almost disappears."

"This is awesome but if I’m being honest, she kinda looks like this is the first time she’s held a gun. Lol," noted a user.

Despite the criticisms, the video showcased the couple's shared interest in Second Amendment rights.

Vivek Ramaswamy's firm stance on the Second Amendment

Vivek Ramaswamy, a staunch Republican, has consistently advocated against restricting gun access for law-abiding citizens.

In a bold stance, he even apparently suggested in September that convicted felons should be allowed to carry weapons. This position was further elucidated during his appearance on former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo’s podcast, where he discussed what it meant to be a "Second Amendment absolutist."

Responding to Cuomo's question about whether everyone, including former felons, should have the right to carry weapons without background checks, Ramaswamy stated, "And I do think concealed carry is important, constitutional carry is important."

While acknowledging the legitimacy of background checks, he argued that "law-abiding" gun ownership acts as a deterrent to violent criminals.

The wide-ranging conversation on Cuomo’s 'As A Matter Of Fact' podcast delved into various aspects of Ramaswamy's policy positions. He emphasized the need for increased support for police officers, addressing high crime rates in cities, and advocating for better mental health resources.

Brushing aside Cuomo’s description of a mass school shooting, Ramaswamy asserted, "That case that you described is not a real case that presents itself very often, compared to real-life violence between a lot of violent criminals in cities who are breaking a lot of other laws."

Later on Saturday, Ramaswamy continued his engagement with voters, as he was scheduled to attend a "Free Speech & Free Drinks" event in Exeter, New Hampshire, as reported by ABC News.
