Virginia mom accused of letting man rape her minor daughter and take explicit photos in exchange for cash
MATHEWS COUNTY, VIRGINIA: A mother has been accused of selling her 15-year-old daughter to a wealthy yacht-owner. The 53-year-old woman, who has not been named to protect her daughter's identity, allegedly let William Hooper of Mathews County, Virginia, rape her daughter and take explicit photos of the teen in exchange for cash.
According to reports, a police search of Hooper's 59-foot yacht revealed “graphic” evidence involving Hooper and the victim.
The mother and Hooper were arrested in November 2019 after a search to find Hooper, who was allegedly absconding. The incident of abuse reportedly took place between April and June of 2019.
On Wednesday, during a court hearing, Hooper denied all allegations against him. In a statement, Hooper's lawyer said: “He's a victim… I’ve seen zero evidence that Mr. Hooper committed any crime whatsoever.”
The minor’s mother still remains in jail as the police carry out an investigation on sex trafficking. The team prosecuting the Hooper and the minor’s mother, now claim to have spoken to a second victim. The prosecutors, however, did not reveal any further information, apart from reporting that the second alleged victim's mental state may be"too fragile" to testify.
According to The Sun, Hooper is allegedly “desperate” to get out of jail after suffering a heart attack behind bars. He had to undergo quadruple bypass surgery. His request for bond, however, was turned down by the judge.
Hooper, per reports, has been charged with human trafficking, solicitation of prostitution of a minor under 16 years old, forcible sodomy, two counts of manufacturing child porn, two counts of use of communications systems to facilitate offenses involving children, according to the Sheriff's office.
The minor’s mother has also been charged with human trafficking, receiving money for procuring a person, receiving money from earnings, aiding prostitution under age 18, indecent liberties with children and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
Hooper next appears in court on March 30.
