'Virgin River': Release date, plot, cast, trailer and all you need to know about Netflix's upcoming romantic drama

Netflix is definitely on a roll this year with its bountiful treats for all ages. Coming in December we have a sweet drama called 'Virgin River' that is inspired by the textual novella penned by Robyn Carr. It is an absolutely romantic delight you should not miss out on, especially if you're trying to start a new life.

The first season will drop on December 6, 2019.

Plot

The story revolves around the life of a nurse practitioner, Melinda Monroe who answers an ad posted to work as a nurse in a remote town of Virgin River near California. In an attempt to restart her life from scratch,  leaving all the awful memories behind her. 

When she moves to the new town, she discovers that the small town isn't as simple as she expected and that she needs to learn to heal her soul first before she can truly make Virgin River her home.

Alexandria is an award-winning American actress known for her work on films and TV shows like 'American Horror Story', 'The Walking Dead', 'This is Us', and 'She's the Man'. She will be seen playing Melinda Monroe in this Netflix series 'Virgin River.'

Martin Henderson

Martin Henderson plays Jack Sheridan (IMDB)

Martin is an actor from New Zealand. He started off his film career with a local production house around the age of thirteen. Martin was seen in films like 'Smokin' Aces', 'Torque', 'Flyboys' and 'The Ring'. He will be seen playing Jack Sheridan in Netflix's upcoming romantic drama 'Virgin River'. 

Annette O'Toole

Annette is an American lyricist, singer, dancer, and actress. She is known for portraying Lisa Bridges in the TV series 'Nash Bridges'. She also played Beverly Marsh in 'IT miniseries', Lana Lang in 'Superman III'. She will be playing Hope McCrea in Netflix's 'Virgin River'.

From the trailer, we know Melinda Monroe is totally looking forward to starting a new life in this remote town of the 'Virgin River'. She has no experience with the ways of life of the locals and is amused by their style of living. When she joins the clinic, she realizes that the main doctor is a stuck up person who is next to impossible to work with. It is then revealed that she has a dark past for which she keeps blaming herself. 

So, we kind of know why she wants to start afresh, but the exact reason is yet to be revealed.
