Vietnam veteran, 73, holding Trump sign knocked to ground and berated by woman wearing Sanders sticker

The veteran said Dudley first bumped him with her body and then knocked down his 'Veterans for Trump' sign before stepping on it

DOUGLAS, MASSACHUSETTS: A Vietnam veteran who was waving a pro-trump sign was repeatedly knocked to the ground by a woman who hurled insults at him in a vicious attack that occurred on Saturday, October 17. Kiara Dudley, 34, has been accused of attacking a 73-year-old veteran who has not yet been identified. The veteran had been waving their flags and signs in support of President Donald Trump in Douglas, Massachusetts, when Dudley confronted him, reported The Sun. 

The veteran was with another person and the two tried to move away from Dudley but she continued to follow them around, MassLive revealed while citing local police. In her booking photo, Dudley wore a sticker indicating her support for Senator Bernie Sanders, reported MassLive. The veteran said Dudley first bumped him with her body and then knocked down his 'Veterans for Trump' sign before stepping on it. 

The elderly gentleman then bent down to pick up the sign after which Dudley then knocked him onto the ground. The authorities revealed that they had received a few 911 calls regarding the incident at around 12.10 local time and had immediately responded. 

The police revealed, "Upon arrival officers learned that a couple from Douglas were located at the intersection promoting Donald Trump with their flags and signs. Approximately 30 minutes after they arrived, they were approached by a party opposing their support that began to berate them with insults and demanded that they leave." As a result of the incident, the veteran had suffered a finger injury, with no more information available. The police arrested Dudley over the weekend but she was able to post her $250 cash bail. 

Some social media users said while they themselves aren't Trump supporters, everyone has the right to speech and expression. One such social media user had written, "Obviously is disrespectful to an older gentleman who his standing for his Political right let alone attacking him should behind bars to learn we have free speech." Another social media commented, "What I have to say about Kiara Dudley and what she did to that elderly man, I can’t say here, Mike! I hope they hold her without bail. I despise Trump, the man had the right to support him. Beauty of our country." "She was released on a $250 bail??? Man this meat head should have had a larger amount than that! She does have a big head like the guy above said though... I bet her drivers license is nothing but an eyebrow," yet another social media user chimed in.

Yet another social media user wrote, "Her lack of emotional control is symptomatic of her sick feelings of inferiority and 'minority entitlement'. Absolutely NO respect or civility exists within these fanatical wimps." A Twitter user who echoed the same sentiments shared, "As a Biden supporter, I find this absolutely revolting. I hope she goes to jail for assault. It’s one thing to hate Trump, but jesus christ you learn to keep your hands to yourself in kindergarten. Especially harming a veteran, she’s disgusting."
