WASHINGTON, D.C.: Marjorie Taylor Greene, the Republican Representative from Georgia's 14th District, came under massive Internet scrutiny after her remarks on racism caused an unintended effect.

Greene, the author of the book 'MTG', while trying to deliver a racially neutral comment, made a stance that indirectly linked Black people with laziness.

What did Marjorie Taylor Greene say?

Greene, while citing a 2017 opinion piece by American jurist Ekow N. Yankah published in The New York Times, talked about racism.

The 49-year-old Congresswoman read out the sentence "Likewise, despite centuries of exclusion and robust evidence of continuing racism, minority underemployment is often couched in the language of bad choices and personal responsibility" from the opinion piece titled, "Can My Children Be Friends With White People?"

After citing the portion, Greene voiced her opinion that unemployment is related to 'bad choices' and 'personal responsibility'  before adding it is not related to 'skin color'.

Following that, she controversially said, however, “I know a ton of white people that are as lazy and sorry and probably worse than Black people I know.” She continued to say that she would not 'hire' those white people.

Nevertheless, the social media users did not like her choice of words and called her out for her unintentional racist comments.

'She should just flat out say she’s racist at this point'

The Internet did not like Marjorie Taylor Greene's effort not to sound racist and castigated her for her choice of words.

One of the enraged social media users said, "So, Black People are the default for measures of laziness?"

"In her racist mind I’m sure she thinks what she said is a compliment to black people," said someone else.

Another disgruntled user quipped, "She’s definitely not a racist 😎😜."

"She probably thinks she is being nice here. That is the sad thing," mourned another fan.

"Apparently they are the measuring stick. “As lazy and sorry as black people” - smh 🤦‍♀️," said someone else.

"Yep, that's what she said, and "measurement" of laziness as a comparison was the context. Textbook racism...and didn't even blink an eye to realize it or perhaps doesn't care. She's a despicable person, inside & out," said someone else.

"That's the propaganda since when they stopped working for "free" after that they were labeled lazy, weird how that works," said another user.

Someone else said, "Not only does she not realize this is a racist flex it’s also directed squarely at those who elected her, and ignoring the fact that workers typically have no influence on the employers who made the bad decisions and forced workers to pay the price."

"They let her get away with anything," remarked another user.

Another user observed, "She should just flat out say she’s racist at this point. She’s said everything but that."

Another social media user slammed her, "OMG! I remember this! She really thinks she’s hiding how she really feels, but we see her!!!"

"And unbelievably She was trying to not sound racist with this statement," castigated another netizen.
