Victor Shi praises Joe Biden's '60 Minutes' interview, Internet calls him 'certifiable'

WASHINGTON, DC: Victor Shi, Joe Biden's youngest elected delegate, drove the internet into a frenzy as praised the President for his “strong” stance in a new '60 Minutes' interview.

During the interview, which aired on Sunday, October 15, 2023, the 80-year-old POTUS doubled down on his support for Israel as he stated that Hamas should be eliminated entirely in the wake of the October 7 attack that has already killed 1,400 people and left thousands gravely injured.

When host Scott Pelley asked whether it was “time for a ceasefire” given the loss of life, Biden replied, “Look, there’s a fundamental difference. Israel is going after a group of people who have engaged in barbarism that is as consequential as the Holocaust. And … I think Israel has to respond.”

“They have to go after Hamas. Hamas is a bunch of cowards. They’re hiding behind the civilians. They put … their headquarters where civilians are and buildings and the like,” Biden said.

“But to the extent they can separate out … the Israelis are gonna do everything in their power to avoid the killing of innocent civilians,” he continued.

At one point, Biden stated that the world is at greater risk due to the dysfunction in Congress, where Republicans have been unable to choose a new speaker and the lower chamber has come to a standstill.

“Look, this is not your father’s Republican Party. Thirty percent of it’s made up of these MAGA Republicans who are maybe-… they don’t look at the same way you and I look at democracy,” he said, according to Deadline.

Following the interview, Shi took to his Twitter to state why Americans “need Joe Biden”. “Wow. President Biden's interview on 60 Minutes just now is another reminder of why there's no one better for the job than Joe Biden,” he wrote.

“His empathy, compassion, & deep grasp of complex foreign policy issues is incredible & only come with age & experience. We need Joe Biden,” he continued.

In a follow-up tweet, Shi praised Biden’s “impressive” answers during the interview. “What's even more impressive: President Biden is answering every question with such purpose and intention,” he expressed.

“He's strong. He's showing that there are no signs of his age slowing him down or affecting his judgment. We should be very grateful Joe Biden is our president,” Shi continued.
