Vegans slam Hyundai Super Bowl ad for mocking them and comparing vegan dinner party to root canal and jury duty
The advertisement, which premiered on TV on Sunday night, shows Jason Bateman as an elevator operator who is delivering anxious people 'down' to various unpleasant experiences
Vegans across the country are expressing outrage online after Hyundai's Super Bowl advertisement implied that a vegan dinner party is a hellish experience, nearly on par with a root canal. The ad also likens eating vegan food with sitting on a middle seat on a long-haul flight and shopping for a new car.
The advertisement, which premiered on television on Sunday night, shows Jason Bateman as an elevator operator who is delivering anxious people "down" to various unpleasant experiences. Among these experiences includes a teenager getting "the talk" from his dad, a man on jury duty, another getting a colon exam and a couple stopping at a "vegan dinner party".
