Jazz vs Nuggets: Fans stunned as Jamal Murray joins Michael Jordan with his 42-point feat to keep Denver's hopes alive

Jamal Murray was the player on everyone's lips on Tuesday. The Denver Nuggets star has been in the form of his life and slammed in 42 points, of which he scored 33 of them in the second half to steer his team to a 117-107 win over Utah Jazz. It was what could rightly be called an unreal performance that had Twitterati stunned. 42 Pts, 17-26 FG, 4-8 3-Pt FG, 8 Reb, 8 Ast, and 16 Pts in the 4th. These are some staggering numbers and there's a new record too.
The feat made Murray the first player to record back-to-back 40-point outings in the playoffs without committing a turnover since 1977 (via ESPN Stats and Info). The only other player to follow a 50+ point #NBAPlayoffs game with a 40+ point one since 1976 is Michael Jordan (3 instances) according to NBA.com/Stats. In the previous game against the Jazz, Murray scored 50 PTS (18/31 FG) 11 REB, 7 AST. In both these games, there were zero turnovers.
And now, on to some choice reactions:
"I didn’t know Jamal Murray was like that," read one of the tweets.
"Low key Jamal Murray is the best player in the series," a fan tweeted.
The Clippers and Mavericks might have set the court on fire at the other end, but this was a game that deserved to be watched. "While everyone was focussed on Lakers vs Portland or Clippers vs Mavs this playoff series between Jamal Murray and Donovan Mitchell is highly underrated!" a fan opined.

"The two biggest surprises so far in the NBA have been Donovan Mitchell (Utah Jazz) and Jamal Murray (Denver Nuggets). Mitchell has broken 50 points twice in the first playoff round, and Murray has once. It’s a shame that they’re playing each other and so one will have to go out.." one of the fans reckoned.

Lakers, are you listening to this? "Listen, Lakers roster looking empty next season. AD resigns, back up PG, and Jamal Murray is looking tasty what you saying."

Both teams will meet on Thursday, August 27, and it would be an interesting Game 6 should the Nuggets win and take it to the final game on Saturday, August 29.
