Unrestrained baby girl dies 3 days after hitting windshield when mother crashed car in suspected DUI
LAS VEGAS, NEVADA: A three-month-old child is proclaimed dead after allegedly hitting the windshield in a car crash by the mother who swerved her car into a road sign in a suspected DUI in Las Vegas on Sunday, August 28. The mother Kazjah Dillon, 24 was driving her two children, a one-year-old, and three-month-old baby who is the victim, Inaya Alston was unrestrained in the front of the car seat when the crash occurred and died from her injuries three days after on August 31.
The mother Kazjah Dillon smashed her car into the 'Las Palmares Neighborhood sign at Edna crane. The accident took place before 6.30 am at Camino Al norte and Edna Crane Avenue, according to the court documents. It is reported that her one-year-old child was also unrestrained and is also thought to be suffering from life-threatening injuries. The mother of two is allegedly facing a litany of charges after she flew the scene with her children including a suspected DUI.

A preliminary police investigation indicated that a 2012 Chrysler 200 traveling north failed to maintain a travel lane, leaving the roadway and striking into a road sign. The police eventually tracked down Dillon who fled the scene with her two injured children. The arresting police said she smelled alcohol off the mother and said she might have fallen asleep while driving the car. The mother and her two children were rushed to UMC Trauma where the two children were treated for critical injuries. Dillon suffered non-life-threatening injuries. The police confirmed on September 15, the three-month-old child, Inaya Alston died due to her severe injuries.
After the police questioned her over suspicion of alcohol the mother from North Las Vegas told the police that she had done a shot or two of Hennessey before she drove to pick up her children. The 24-year-old mother, Kazjah Dillon is now arrested and faces a couple of charges including felony DUI, child abuse or neglect, failure to stay at the scene, failure to decrease speed or use due care, failure to maintain a lane, driving without a license, no proof of insurance, and failure to wear a safety belt, according to Daily Mail. However, it is not confirmed if she is charged for the death of her daughter Inaya Alston. The mother told the police that she has been working double shifts and she thinks she fell asleep while driving, arresting report read.
