A student of the University of Central Florida, accused of rape, allegedly told the victim that he "just really wanted to have sex," a police affidavit said on Friday, July 19.

The student, identified as 21-year-old Jaime Polanco,  was arrested at a student apartment complex on Friday on the UCF campus and was charged with sexual battery. The arrest was made after a recorded phone call between him and the victim appeared to show him confess to a sexual assault, which occurred in June.

Reports state that Polanco and the victim were watching a basketball game in his bedroom at the Knights Krossing Apartments complex on June 10, when, according to authorities, he attempted to have sex with the victim, who has not been identified.

The victim reportedly told Polanco that "they did not want to have sex", however, the suspect allegedly pulled down the victim's shorts and forced himself on the victim despite resistance. A police affidavit stated that the victim only alerted the police about the alleged attack on Thursday, July 18, after Polanco showed up at their door. Polanco, however, fled before the police arrived at the site, according to the Orlando Sentinel.

In a phone call, which was recorded by authorities, the victim spoke to Polanco about the assault on June 10, and then he reportedly confessed to forcing himself on the victim despite remembering "you saying no."

“I guess I just really wanted to have sex,” Polanco told the victim according to the affidavit. “I do remember having sex and I do remember you saying no.”

Reports state that the suspect, in the recorded phone call, was heard saying sorry, adding "I didn't know what was going through my head” and “I can’t blame the alcohol."

Polanco is currently being held on a $10,000 bond at an Orange County Jail.
