MARION, OREGON: Fatally stabbed Oregon man Travis Juetten's mother speaks out after police inform they are looking into possible links of the case of four students of the University of Idaho being murdered. On knowing the information of cops heading to find ties to the brutal knife slaying, Travis' mother is hopeful that the case will finally be solved.

On November 24, Myra Juetten, mother of Travis told the Independent that "I want answers for all five of them. If law enforcement can work together and solve both cases that would be the best Christmas present ever." Juetten made her comment a day after James Frye, the Moscow Police Chief made a confirmation that the knife attack on Travis and his wife Jamilyn Juetten on August 13, 2021, was on his team's radar. He confirmed this in response to the question of whether his department was "looking into any possible connection" to the attack.

Frye further added that "We’re looking at every avenue and we have other agencies reaching out to us with other cases and stuff that we are going to follow up on those." Surprised on hearing Frye's comments on the possible ties to the quadruple slayings of four students at the University of Idaho, the grieving mom told none of the Idaho authorities have contacted her yet. She told the news outlet that "I heard it on the news conference the other day that they were exploring it or that they were aware of it – that was the first I knew. I did get my hopes up as it’s been a year and a half and we have nothing." She went on to add that she couldn’t understand why anyone would have wanted to murder her son, who was "the sweetest, kindest, loving person."

As reported by the Marion County Sheriff's office, a masked intruder attacked Jamilyn and Travis was trying to fight the attacker as they were sleeping at their home in Silverton. The incident took place on August 23, 2021, approximately at 3.00 am. The deputies located both husband and wife inside the home and found that they suffered multiple wounds. Travis was pronounced deceased while his wife who was stabbed 19 times was taken to the hospital. Travis's mother finds that she has noted similarities between the two cases wherein an armed person broke into a home and stabbed the victims while they were sleeping in their beds.

For the stabbing murders of Kaylee Goncalves, 21, Ethan Chapin, 20, Xana Kernodle, 20, and Madison Mogen, 21, in the early hours of November 13, police say they still do not have a suspect. They confirm that the group was on the second and third floors of the house, likely sleeping at the time. Police further added that the killer spared two roommates and a dog belonging to one of the roommates.

"I think there’s a lot of similarities to the case but I couldn’t say for sure if they are or not [connected]," she said revealing that when her son was killed, the pet dog at their home was left unharmed. Travis' mother said "My heart breaks for the parents of these four young adults," Myra said. “It’s very, very hard to lose a child so brutally with no answers. My heart breaks for them," she said and added that "I hope that law enforcement now solve not only Travis’ case but also find the killer of those four beautiful people."
