Spoilers for 'Unidentified: Inside America's UFO Investigation' Season 2 Episode 3 - 'UFOs vs Nukes'

It isn't easy to talk about nuclear weapons. The very mention brings in some chills and the sheer thought of the consequences of a nuclear attack is a gut-churner. History TV's 'Unidentified' delved into UFOs and nukes in the third episode and that had fans genuinely worried about the future of mankind if at all it would come down to an all-out invasion someday.

"Once they open the 'we may not be alone' door, there isn’t any going back. They know what they are doing. We aren’t alone, that’s just the truth," a fan opined. "Through much of recent history, there has been some policy of denial because admittance of a 'thing' as difficult to detect and (potentially) impossible to counter is a big deal! Our spaceflight efforts have evolved, at a measured pace so no leap in technology need be explained." wrote one of the fans.

"This is the most disturbing part of the phenomenon, turning nukes on and off and we can’t do anything about it. 'They' could annihilate us at the drop of a dime #Unidentified," wrote one of the fans. "Loose nukes causing angst in the desert. Yikes. Put Little Green Reid and his hat on the case," a fan said.

"That isn’t what data shows. We need to be extremely cautious. Are we hostile as a species? Sure. That should go to show anything is possible. We cannot equate technological advancement with moral advancement, especially w something we don’t yet understand," a tweet read. "If they had the capability of shutting down missiles, which probably at the moment is our last hope to exterminate alien threats, then we're powerless," another tweet read.

Here's an explanation from one of the fans who watched the episode: "My theory: when we went 2 the moon we found something. 'They,' told us to not come back, gave some tech in return. NASA covered up spread disinfo. now every country wants 2 go 2 the moon because they found out. Now we have 2protect ourselves (space force) just in case."

"This is bad" was one of the constant thoughts fans had when they took to social media to talk about the episode. The question remains: "Is the world under threat?"

'Unidentified: Inside America's UFO Investigation' Season 2 airs Saturdays 10 pm ET on History.
