'Uncharted' Season 2 Episode 6 Preview: Gordon Ramsay is all set to get his mouth torched by India's hot spices
'Gordon Ramsay: Uncharted' Season 2 is coming to a close. In Episode 6, Gordon Ramsay will be touring the South West of India, hoping to get a grip on the massive range of spices the country's food boasts of. Indian cuisine is fragrant and rich in spice but it's mistaken to be hot in most parts of the world. However, the chef found out during his travels that, that is not the case. It's all about the balance and how one can add elements to the dish to achieve a perfect harmony between the spices.
Gordon told National Geographic that it was "fascinating" to see how nature tackles extreme heat and added that the spices used in traditional dishes act as cooling agents as well, which is a surprise because spices are mostly known to spike body temperatures. "What I’ve really understood more is what this region has to offer in terms of some of the best ingredients to create some of the most mouthwatering dishes I’ve ever tasted," he further elaborated.
Chili water-immersed sliced pineapples, pork-based pandi curry with bitter limes, and coconut milk-tempered fish curry are some of the examples of dishes that are able to marry opposing ingredients to create extraordinary and well-balanced flavors. But this is a different region. India is geographically diverse and so is its food. It apparently varies and changes every 100 kilometers.
This week's episode is more about exploring than setting out on adventures. However, he did attempt at catching an ant nest but wasn't able to position himself well. "I look like I’m attempting the most awkward TikTok dance ever," Gordon said as he tried to hunt for ants, which he claimed may have bitten him 50-60 times.
But that's not all. Gordon will go dirt-racing in a rally car too. But that's hardly an adventure compared to what he has done before — jumped off choppers, eaten Goliath spiders, braved hippos while hunting for earthworms, caught caimans, ate rats, and evaded piranhas and stingrays.
