‘Uncensored DMX': Air time, how to live stream, trailer and all about rapper's final interview on Part 1 of TV One docuseries

The world lost one of the greatest hip-hop artists, DMX on April 9, 2021, after he suffered a cardiac arrest on April 2. The late iconic rapper, who enjoyed a massive fan following across the world, is now getting a two-part documentary that was filmed just three weeks before he breathed his last.

The interview that will be aired on TV One in two different installments was announced on May 1. However, the founder and chairwoman of Urban One Inc. had first tweeted about it on April 29 saying, “Breaking: In his final interview, hip hop legend #DMX opens up about his personal life in his own words on #UncensoredTVOne. Part one of this documentary airs Sunday, May 16th At 8 PM before #UrbanOneHonors on @tvonetv This is one you don’t want to miss!”

Air time

The first installment of the documentary will be up for streaming on May 16, whereas, the second part of the same will be available on May 17, 2021. The official Twitter account of TV One shared the big news saying, “TV One will air a special episode of UNCENSORED featuring the late rapper @DMX. The special will air on Sunday, May 16 at 8P/7C. It will feature an interview with DMX just three weeks before his passing and is confirmed to be his final & most transparent to date. #DMXUncensored”

The second part has been titled ‘An Uncensored Special: DMX The Icon’. The broadcast partner tweeted about the same saying, “‘An Uncensored Special: DMX The Icon’ will air Monday, May 17 at 10P/9C and will provide accounts from close family and friends, including Ruff Ryders CEO Joaquin Waah Dean, Drag-On, and Styles P, who speak to the impact the late rapper has in hip-hop and rap. #DMXUncensored”



 



 



 

How to live stream

‘Uncensored DMX’ will be broadcasted on TV One and if somehow, the viewers don’t have the access to it, the same can be streamed on Philo!. The first part of the documentary will be re-aired on Saturday, May 22 at 11A/10C and on Sunday, May 23 at 10P/9C. The second part titled ‘An Uncensored Special: DMX The Icon’ will re-air on Saturday, May 22 at 10A/9C and on Sunday, May 23 at 11P/10C only on TV One.

Plot

Billed as his final interview, the two-part documentary will show the ‘Ruff Ryders’ Anthem’ hitmaker in his most transparent form ever. The late 50-year-old hip-hop artist will be seen discussing his life ranging from getting tricked into drugs at the age of 14, his introduction to spirituality and how he always had a special connection with dogs, his career spanning 30 years, and his legacy among other notable moments from his life. The hit autobiographical series ‘Uncensored' explores the lives of popular personalities as they provide first-hand accounts of their success and the obstacles they faced throughout their careers, as reported by the official website of TV One.

Cast

The two instalments of the documentary will feature DMX in a sit-in interview, therefore along with his close friends and family members. The special series will be hosted by Erica Campbell and Roland Martin.

DMX started his rap career in the early 90’s. He dropped his debut album in 1998 called ‘It's Dark and Hell Is Hot’ which got thumbs up from both the critics and the audience. The album sold 251,000 copies within its first week of release. The late rapper was best known for his songs like ‘Ruff Ryders’ Anthem’, ‘Where the Hood At?’ and ‘X Gon' Give It to Ya’ among a few others.
 

Creators

Televised on TV One, the special series called ‘UNCENSORED’ is produced by Eric Tomosunas, Keith Neal, and James Seppelfrick. Paul Hall serves as the executive producer whereas, Jay Allen is the co-executive producer on the show. Nikki Byles of Swirl Films is also on board as a producer.
