It's quite possible that the showrunners of 'House Of Payne' suffered a bump on their heads and lost their memory because none of them seem to remember that Calvin and Miranda kissed at the end of Episode 8. It is not even addressed in Episode 9 and neither of the two parties seem to remember it. In fact, Calvin is all sprightly and cheery and brought home a new girl for his parents to meet, something that doesn't sit entirely well with Miranda.

The first part of Episode 9 focusses on Miranda trying to cook in the kitchen and for some reason there's much banter between her and Ella (Cassi Davis). Ella doesn't think she can cook and that joke stretches on till you would beg for mercy. Nevertheless, the point was, Miranda to cry about Calvin and relate to Ella that she isn't over him. And the next scene is, Calvin rushing to his parents' home with his hot-and-happening girlfriend Laura, who he's just started dating. Of course, she doesn't know about his ex-wife and least of all that it is Miranda.

TWIST! Miranda and Laura are co-workers and Miranda has been crying to Laura about Calvin too, though she hasn't been mentioning his name. The episode ends on an awkward note, as both Miranda and Laura struggle to understand each other and that they have a very common interest. Oh, and the rest of the episode involves Curtis (LaVan Davis) wanting to watch a movie with Ella, which is entirely forgettable. Seriously, was Curtis always this annoying and cringey? Can't remember a time when something happened on the show, without him making some inappropriate comment or the other. The Miranda-Calvin drama is getting a little dragged out now and needs to be put to rest for once and for all. Does Miranda deserve a second chance with Calvin, considering that she was the one who walked out on him years ago or can Calvin sort his feelings out for her, and not date every woman he sees?

That's being too hopeful. This drama isn't going to end anytime soon, so get ready to watch more of this soap opera for the next few episodes. 'House Of Payne' airs on BET, 8 pm.
