Tyler Griffin: Colorado man arrested after his girlfriend jumps to death from a Times Square hotel following a fight
MANHATTAN, NEW YORK CITY: A 20-year-old Colorado woman died after allegedly jumping from a Times Square hotel window. The incident occurred after the woman reportedly had a violent argument with her boyfriend who also hurt their 8-month-old daughter. The man Tyler Griffen, 24, has since been detained as police investigate the case.
On Tuesday night, police responded to a 911 call reporting an assault in progress at the Oyo Hotel in Times Square. Officers arrived at 10.27 pm and discovered a young woman unconscious and unresponsive on the second-floor scaffolding outside the hotel, the Daily Mail reported.

'All hell broke loose in the room'
The couple, both from Littleton, Colorado, got into a violent clash late Tuesday as one source told the New York Post that "All hell broke loose in the room.” The woman who has not been named was "repeatedly" punched by her boyfriend, Tyler Griffen, 24, leaving her bruised up, police said.
The brawl spilled into the corridor, where Griffen allegedly pulled the baby's arm "in a forceful manner," causing the youngster to tumble down the steps to the ninth level. A woman also yelled “Don’t hurt the baby!” according to officers and sources, the outlet reported. Later the witnesses lost the site of the couple but police believe the young mom made her way to the roof of the hotel and jumped.
'I heard, like, a loud boom'
"I heard, like, a loud boom. Almost like a gunshot. And I was like, 'What is going on?'" said hotel guest Yumna Khan as per CBS. "Oh, it's a body outside. I wake up from the bed, and I saw the body, and I go 'Oh my God.' I go down to the lobby and I found a lot of police," said hotel guest Juan Gamboa.
No indication she was pushed or thrown down
As per CBS News, the woman was visiting from out of state, and that there's no indication that she was pushed or thrown. Police were originally called to a physical altercation between the deceased and 24-year-old Tyler Griffin of Colorado before the victim jumped. She hit the second-floor scaffolding, and was pronounced dead at the scene around 10.30 pm, police said.
Griffen acted abnormally in the hotel lobby
Officers discovered Griffen acting abnormally in the hotel lobby and had to tase him to make an arrest, according to officials. He was admitted to Bellevue Hospital as a "emotionally disturbed person," but was later charged in connection with the horrible incident. Griffen was scheduled to be arraigned Wednesday on counts of assault, reckless endangerment, and endangering a child, according to police.
