The newfangled members of ABC sitcom 'Modern Family' have grown to become a family in real life, too, after having navigated their professional lives together for over a decade.

With only three episodes left until the series comes to an end, the cast of ‘Modern Family’ is seen preparing themselves for the farewell, which is going to be a rollercoaster ride.

Christopher Lloyd, the co-creator of the 22 Emmy Award-winning legendary show, describes the finale, "It's kind of like when you’re a kid and your best friend moves away — only it's 100 best friends," according to an Entertainment Weekly report.

Meanwhile, the hardest goodbyes are going to come from our beloved actors, whose characters have gotten strongly imprinted on the minds of the viewers. Ty Burrell, who plays the role of Phil Dunphy explained, "It was like beautiful torture. It was like being at a wedding and a funeral at the same time."

However, our favorite redhead Mitchell Pritchett, whose role is essayed by Jesse Tyler Ferguson, is of a different opinion.

Admitting that he has "mixed feelings" about 'Modern Family' ending, Jesse told Entertainment Tonight, "There's great freedom that comes with finishing up an 11-year run of something artistically. I can do whatever I want to do. But the reality of the situation is we all really love each other."

Recounting his experience of being a part of a landmark series, he added, "When August comes around and it's a time that we would be going back to work after our summer hiatus, I think we're all gonna feel a void."

However, the modern family has already found modern ways to remain intact even after the conclusion of the show.

Revealing that all the cast members have already created a group to exchange text messages, Jesse said, "We've all gone off already in these new jobs and these new opportunities and people are with their families, and yet we're still wanting to stay very connected to one another. It's going to be a group of people that I'm always close with but it’s just going to be in a different way. I'm not going to see them as often."
