The US Presidential election has been a nail-biting affair. Since Tuesday, neither Joe Biden nor Donald Trump have reached the required 270 electoral votes needed to win the race. While this has the public anxious of who their next leader is going to be, Trump and his family have embarked on a campaign to prove mass voter 'fraud'.

The president's son, Eric Trump, is being mocked on Twitter following his claim that the Trump campaign's "voter fraud hotline" was being spammed by the Democratic Party to bog down "thousands of complaints". The 36-year-old took to his 4.4 million followers on Twitter to share this claim without any evidence. "The @DNC is spamming our voter fraud hotline to bog down the thousands of complaints we are receiving! Wonder what they have to hide".

Early Friday, former Vice President Joe Biden pulled ahead in the major swing state Pennsylvania, which gets him closer to his victory. In the meanwhile, the Trump campaign continues to make public and official complaints about unfounded polling issues and has even brought a series of lawsuits across the country to stop vote counting - these have been thrown out by judges.

Many on Twitter took no time in calling Eric out for this false allegation. "Eric is now working in customer service", wrote one user. "Well if your Daddy doesn't have anything to hide, why not release the taxes?" one replied to him on Twitter.

Another said, "Damn, I wish I thought of that. Great idea." To which a user responded saying, "What's the number? I have nothing better to do".

This tweet comes after he tweeted a hotline number on Friday, for the president's supporters to report voting irregularities. "HELP STOP VOTER SUPPRESSION, IRREGULARITIES AND FRAUD", read the tweet that included a phone number.

But here's the interesting bit about the helpline. New York Post reported that when the number is dialed, no one answers. "Instead, a loop of Trump's campaign speeches is played over and over again and many of them appear to be from 2016," their report says.

"The only one who can stop this corrupt machine is you," the recording says about 10 minutes in, after old snippets from Donald Trump's campaign speeches about Hillary Clinton's email scandal. By Friday afternoon, Eric's tweet appeared to have been deleted.

As Joe Biden get closer and closer to winning the presidency, Trump and his family have intensified their claims of election fraud and are litigating in many states.

On Election Day, Eric shared a video on Twitter that he claimed showed ballots for his father being destroyed in Virginia. On Wednesday, he posted a video saying, "Burning 80 Trump Ballots." The video, which has since been deleted, showed what looked like ballots going up in flames.

But this turned out to be false. City officials in Virginia Beach, released a statement saying the video did not show what Eric suggested in his video. "A concerned citizen shared a video with us that ostensibly shows someone burning ballots," their statement read. "They are NOT official ballots, they are sample ballots."
