KAMAS, UTAH: Two news anchors with whom a children’s book author sat down for an interview have now shared their disgust after she was charged with the murder of her husband. Kouri Richins has been accused of murdering her husband, Eric, in March 2022. She allegedly mixed a lethal dose of fentanyl in his cocktail, resulting in his death.

Richins' alleged criminal activity came to light in 2023 after she was charged in May. As per reports, after her Eric's death, she authored the children’s book, ‘Are You With Me?’, and went on to give an interview to KTVX’s ‘Good Things Utah,’ while promoting it.

Who are Deena Manzanares and Surae Chinn?

Deena Manzanares and Surae Chinn are the hosts of ‘Good Things Utah’. In March, they reportedly spoke to Richins. Now, since news of her alleged misdeed has come to light, Chinn told Fox News, “I definitely feel like we were duped, in a sense. I'm sickened now that she sat on our couch and talked about grieving. We showed so much compassion and empathy for what seemingly looked like a mourning widow.”

Manzanares said, “Sitting down with her, we both felt… she was a little bit cold. She wasn't super emotional. But again, we're trying to show our guests in the best light, we were trying to be on their side, and I'm thinking, she's probably numb, this has only happened a year ago.”

‘It's truly mind-blowing’

“She was nervous, she was stumbling over her words, I thought it was nervous to be on live TV - but now I think she was nervous because she was lying,” Manzanares stated.

When Chinn pointed out that Richins might have an idea that she was the suspect in her husband’s death when she came for the interview, Manzanares remarked, “That's what I think is scary, and that's what makes me question what it is she's dealing with, whether it's a mental illness, it's a personality disorder," adding, "I have no idea. But what makes somebody behave in that way and then put on whatever facade she had put on to appear as the quote-unquote, grieving mother. It's truly mind-blowing."

'SHE KILLED HER HUSBAND'

Manzanares also shared that during the interview Richins did not reveal Eric’s cause of death but when she asked about it behind the camera, she said, “Oh, we think it was Covid-related, he had a lung issue.” The two journalists also claimed to have received emails after the interview, with one anonymous message saying, “YOU KNOW SHE KILLED HER HUSBAND!!!”

Initially, they took them as “bizarre” and “alarming” but the eventual revelations about Richins left them mortified. “I never in a million years would have thought this was all coming over the next months. It's truly shocking,” Manzanares asserted.
